| You may want to try putting the pill inside a straw and then put that into her mouth blow and then the she should swallow... my vet had showed me that because when Roxie is sick too she will not eat anything and she never has taken meds good.... Good luck, poor Uni!

| It makes the pill go into their throat and they end up swallowing... I have only done it a few times but it has worked.

| Poor Uni is not feeling well. I'm glad that you got her into the vet so quickly and hope she is on her way to feeling better. You could try to put the pill into a little cream cheese. It's always worked great for these three. I think the little bit of cheese hide any bitter taste of the med. When I've given pills they will all line up for a little treat so everyone gets a smidge.

| Oh no, just now seen this, Uni stop scaring mommy like this, This is what has work for me, I take the pill and crush it, between two small spoon, then I open the mouth, and put the powder pill in their mouth they can't spit it out, that way, because stick in their tongue if is a capsule you open it and put the powder in their tongue. Glad that nothing happen to Uni in the parking lot, don't blame yourself you had a very stressful day, hugs, Greta.

| One minute she wants to play and eat, next she doesn't. I can tell she's feeling a bit better though. she got out a cow tail and was chomping on it, even threw it around for a while. i took that as a sign she was hungry. Gave her some plain cooked chicken (about 1/2 a strip) and ate it with ZEAL! Then gave her some chicken with the a/d and med crushed in it, hmmm not so much. forced some water down with a straw. Gonna give her the antibiotic med at midnite. Poop still thinner than doo doo butter. Bf asked me how I am not gagging while trying to get the stool sample in the jar. Oh, question, will the stool sample still be ok by the morning? If there are parasites in there, will the tests be able to show them since the sample is not fresh and hot out the bum? Will the lil buggers still be alive and able to register on the test? i hope I got enough brown slime... they charged me for the test already. Thank you everyone for the well wishes and good vibes. Uni and I love all you guys!

Thor's Human Donating Member | The vet should give you guidelines on how to get the stool sample. I believe it should be okay overnight in the fridge. I use Greenie's pill packs when I need to give Thor medicine. Basically they are very soft, flavorful treats with a hole poked in the side where you hide the pill. They are very malleable, so I only use half a treat, and mold it around the pill. Thor always swallows it in one bite. He gets very excited when he sees that bag come out, he has no idea I'm slipping him drugs. Oh, and for the slime (poor Uni!): can you get some litter and have her go on that? Then you can just scoop some litter along with the slime.

| @QS, whenever Uni is not in the mood for food, it doesn't matter if I'm giving her a treat, chicken or even filet mignon draped with pate (don't worry never tried that). If she doesn't want to eat she will not eat. Anyway, the vet tech was the one who told me how to get the doo doo. I said but it's to thin, how do I get it? she ssaid just try to scoop it in. I used a plastic spoon on the mucusy parts. Sorry TMI. And she just said get it in as soon as possible, so I go back in the morning. (They are not 24/7). I tried to get her to go on the pad so I could get it easier, but she is now accustomed to going outside (trying to save $ on the pee pads) now she won't go on the pads.

I ♥ Joey & Ralphie! Donating Member | I'm so sorry to read about Uni. The vet gave me a pill pusher that comes in handy if they won't eat. You just poke the pill in the rubber end of it, and then press the other end and it pops down their throat. Poor little thing, I know you must be worried sick, sending prayers and good vibes your way!

☺Farrah☺ Donating Member | Send prayers and good vibes for Uni and you. For the pill, crush it between 2 spoons then get a lick of honey or Nutrical and the powder will stick to it. Then just rub it to the roof of her mouth and the pill will go down without a hitch. Good luck.
