| New here and need some help! I have a yorkie named Oliver who is 9 months old. He and my boyfriend were playing when he jumped up to play bite and lodged his tooth in my boyfriend's finger. As a result, he now has a broken tooth on the left side of his mouth. I plan on taking him to the vet first thing tomorrow morning, but I'm hoping someone has some advice to help with easing the pain. Any little bit of advice helps. Thanks! |

| Poor Oliver I'm not for sure but I think Tylenol is not good for them. Like I said I'm not for sure I would have to go back and look at other post. Some one will be along soon and help you out. Hope he not in too much pain.

| Call your vet or an ER vet to make sure this is ok for your little guy, but I used to use Orajel on one of mine (the teething gel for babies). Just put a little dab on a q-tip and swab his gum in that area. When you call be sure to tell them of any health problems or medicines he's on. Good luck!

| How much pain does he appear to be in? Is he whining? Did it break off or split?

| hahah I was wondering that myself...poor guy...no one cares about his finger. Must be sore though if it broke a puppy's tooth. Good luck at the vet tomorrow!

| Yes, do not give tylenol. I have been told by my vet you can give a 1/2 baby aspirin, but when I did, it made my dog quite ill and yours is just a pup. I agree, call an emergency vet and ask advice. It's free.

| Update Sorry for the late update. I spoke with the vet and they said to bring him in if he seemed to be having any issues. He seems to be fine, just doing his normal thing, so I made an appt for Monday. As for my boyfriend, he has a 1/2 in long gash in his finger. He seems to be doing okay as well, but you know how men are..they like to be babied sometimes. After it happened, he bandaged up his finger and went into the kitchen where the dog was. He was super worried about Oliver, but Oliver walked up to him (bf was sitting on the floor) and started licking his fingers. He was more worried about my boyfriend's finger than his own broken tooth. Haha. It was the sweetest thing. I'll make sure to post after he goes to the vet tomorrow. |
