| My Yorkie Maybe Hurt! :( Please HELP! The other day I was holding my yorkie like normal. He gets kind of dare-devilish and started to climb up my body to sit on my shoulder..which is completely the norm for him. Out of no where he decides to jump of my shoulder! I tried to get ahold of him and even tried to save him by sticking out my back to catch him that way, but couldn't maneuver it just right. He fell right on his back...on concrete. I felt horrible and he yelped so loud it broke my heart. Afterwards, he just seemed like he was a little shook up from it, or maybe sore. So I called the vet and they said that nothing may be wrong with him and just to watch him, but if he acts like something is hurt in the morning bring him in. The next morning he was fine. He was spunky, energetic, running all over the place just like usual. But that night when I got home from work, he acted as if he felt pain. Like the accident just had happened. Yelps when picked up, sat down, or sometimes even touched. He was in his cage the entire time while I was gone. He just wants to lay down now, not even trying to play. Sometimes even whines when he moves a certain way. I've very scared. He's only 12 weeks old. I got him not too long ago and I'm very attached already. What should I do? What may be wrong with him? |

| Sorry about your pup, I don't trust mine to let them sit on my shoulders you never know with this little ones, I will take him to vet asap, and at least have some xray done, also, a metal playpen with pads (washables if he destroy the disposable ones) water, food and bed, will be better until he is completely potty train, than be cage, while you are gone, unless the vet tell you that he need to be crate to limit his mobilities, while he is getting better, but you will need him to take him out to potty, jmo ps. Welcome to yt!!

| Your vet told you to bring him in if he acted like he was hurt, right? That's what you need to do. It sounds like he is in lots of pain. There is no way anyone here could guess at what his injuries are. He needs a hands on physical and probably Xrays asap. |

| Update Earlier I put my finger underneath I guess his chin and lifted up his face to look at me, and he yelped. Although he's yelped at alot, do you think he could have severely hurt his neck? Another thing is I don't understand how he could have been PERFECTLY FINE this morning. Nothing was wrong. |

| I think you should keep him in his crate until you can get him into the vet - and get him in asap. He could have hurt his back, his neck, who knows. Not worth the risk. I would not let him run all around, try to keep him calm and quiet and see your vet.

| I agree that you need to keep him quiet and get him in to see the vet. Were you standing up and allowed him to climb onto your shoulder That does not seem safe at all to allow him to do something so daredevilish. I sure hope that he is going to be alright.

| I was holding him to my chest like i always do. He likes to climb up things like the couch or the recliner. And all of the sudden he was clawing his way up to my shoulder. I haven't gotten his nails trimmed yet so my reaction was more to my pain until he tried to jump off of me. |
