| ![]() here is some info and link - do you remember if the vet did the implant in the neck area ![]() ![]() http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Microchip_implant_(animal) Implant location In dogs and cats, chips are usually inserted below the skin at the back of the neck, between the shoulder blades on the dorsal midline. Continental European pets may be an exception; they get the implant in the left side of the neck, according to one reference.[1] The chip can often be manually detected by the owner by gently feeling the skin in that area. It stays in place as thin layers of connective tissue form around the biocompatible glass which encases it. Last edited by dwerten; 05-31-2010 at 08:42 PM. |

As far as I know, he didn't adjust it. I don't really want to put blame on him, I'm new to the whole microchipping thing. It just confuses that here she was a perfectly healthy puppy one day, sees the vet the next and is sick within less than 24 hours of the process. She also had a physical that day before the chip was implanted and she passed with flying colors.

| ![]() Also as someone else said, Bloods and X-ray should be done immediately while you waite for a Neuro appt so the Neuro can have the results of those things before your appt. This could be from the chip or it could be liver related also AAI , Chiari or GME so please don't waste time in getting to the bottom of this as it could be life threatening. |

Donating YT 4000 Club Member | ![]() Poor baby. I hope you figure out what is going on soon. As others have already told you, please have your vet run blood work while you are waiting for the neurology appt. How old is she? Is it possible that she has a liver shunt? Someone else mentioned AAI. Keeping you in my thoughts. |
