Steve, that post about your visit really brings back memories. Last year, I had a little guy that had to have a leg amputated and I took him to the best clinic in the area. It was a 70 mile drive but I went every day to visit until they let me bring him home (he was there 2 days following surgery). It was so hard to see him in the shape he was in and he seemed so sad. Somehow I made a happy visit of it but boy, I sure was glad to get him home! Things will be so much better for you, your wife and Carlo once he's home. Wishing nothing but the best for all of you. Through all of this and you still keep your sense of humor. Bless your heart! I'm so happy for you that Carlo came through the surgery, and I'll pray that tomorrow he is feeling much better. It's got to be so shocking for you and your wife, to see him go from apparent wellness to signs of distress in such a short time. Hugs to both you and your wife. I'll be checking back for updates! |
You all have a great weekend. We certainly appreciate all of the well wishes, thoughts and prayers for the big guy. You all have a great weekend. Hopefully Carlo will start to eat tomorrow, and be home in a few days. |
Steve, Marge, and especially Carlo,,were sending a bunch of yorkie prayers to your family and hugs! I'm thinking Carlo will hopefully start eating again once he is back home. When my Precious got spayed, she didn't eat for 2 whole days (very unlike her!) but then she finally took her fave treats and she hasn't stopped eating since lol she gained 2 1/2 lbs since August:eek: When I first got Tigger, I had to take him in for a dental and some baby teeth extractions. He didn't eat for 6 days! I was so worried about him bc he only weighed 3.5 lbs. He didn't like soft food, so I had to force feed him bc he was losing weight fast. But on the 6th day, he finally nibbled on his food (thank God!) He might be queasy from the pain meds, so we'll pray he eats something by tomorrow. Hang in there big guy. yorkie kisses to you all:aimeeyork |
Thank God Carlo made it thru surgery and hopefully is heading toward recovery. Hope things are looking up tomorrow and he has a little sparkle in his eyes. He looks like such an amazing big guy, I know it is devastating for you and your wife to see him ill. Prayers are going your way. Thanks for the updates. |

I pray Carlo continues to do well. |
Wishing the best for Carlo today and sending our love and get well wishes. |
More prayers for the Big Dog... hoping you feel more like yourself real soon... |
Carlo is a not going to let his leader down, he has seen met his enemy and he will fight with diligence, bravery, honor........He will remain steadfast and strong in this battle.........He has only just begun to fight......Carlo, will win this! |
I hope Carlo is feeling better and perkier today. I don't think I looked too perky myself after any surgeries; so maybe Carlo is the same way. Hopefully he will be less groggy today and more like his old self. |

Hugs to Carlo :)! |
Hoping Carlo has his appetite back after mom's home cooking. Get well soon big guy!!! |
UPDATE........ The Vet that is treating him called, and said he can come home today. He believes being home will help his recovery. He still has not eaten, and said if he does not eat today, to take his 2 pain patches off. He will be taking Pepcid and and Oral Antibiotic. He said that Carlo is standing and pawing at the cage door, When he paws like that, he wants out. We are going to pick him up in about 1/2 hour. Needless to say, we are quite happy. Marge is washing all of his beds and covers, and we will make him confortable. Maxine will ride along with us to keep him company. Will post more later when he is home and situated. |
