| Runny Nose and Smacking Lips My little guy, Gilly, is about 1.5 years old. Great little dog, an excessive face-licker, but that's okay by me. For the past two or three days, he hasn't wanted to play with his monkey or lick me in the face, hasn't ate too much (except some ham and cheese) and has been really lazy. His nose is dripping snot, doing this smacking thing with his mouth (like he's got something in his throat) and is a little shaky and out of it. His breath stinks like no other. What do you think this is? I think it might be a sinus infection or allergies. Should I try giving him some antibiotics? Thanks, Carmen |

| I don't know the answer but will bump the thread for you. WELCOME to YT!!! My Charlie was sick last week with vommiting and his breath stunk too. . You might want to call your vet. I took Charlie off of food for 24 hours and very little water, as instructed by my vet, and gave him small amounts of perscription dog food after that and he got better. Instead of perscription dog food you might try some boiled chicken and white rice to see if he'll eat. Sounds like it might be some kind of infection though. Hope he feels better soon!

| Thanks.. I'm gonna take him tomorrow if he doesn't straighten up. I just gave him a bath, a vitamin and some more ham... the boiled chicken sounds really good. We both might have that for lunch tomorrow. Thanks again, Carmen |

| I would absolutely take him to the vet!!!!! Does not sound good at all. Sounds like he may have pierced his upper mouth with something since his nose is running, doesn't want to eat or use mouth and has stinky breath. The sooner you take this one to the vet the better. |
