That's all very interesting. I do wonder, too, if she's getting feeling back. I suppose only time will tell. I'm sure it was good for you to get out. Take care...

I have to agree that during recovery there are good days and bad days...it is possible that she is getting some feeling back and that was what was making her uncomfortable. Glad you were able to get out for a little while...hope you met some nice people.

Great that you got out and did something Linz... you'll go stir crazy if you don't! How was the clothing party?
I know its tough and I don't envy your situation at all... but hang in there, you are doing wonderful and Layla is just sooo lucky to have you!

The clothing party was EXPENSIVE! And there wasn't much there that I would wear. It was a little awkward because all of the women were a good 15-20 years older than me and have husbands and kids, so I couldn't find much to talk about. I tried to talk about Layla but it felt like I was the crazy dog lady and nobody understood.

We dropped Layla off at rehabilitation this morning and I almost made it to work without crying. A block away, tears started pouring out. This is really hard. My heart is broken and I'm trying to be as positive as possible around Layla so when I'm not around her I just lose it.

All of us here understand and would feel exactly as you do ... but I do know what you mean by feeling like crazy dog lady to some other people. My friends that own dogs understand more than anyone else the pain you feel when your dog is not 100%, more so than friends who own any other animal or have kids.

Do you work with anyone your age at work that you could get a drink/coffee after work or something? How about any dog lovers? I wish I were near you and could help you or just be a friend in the flesh. You sound so overwhelmed and lonely. My heart is breaking for you and Layla.

Love

Hang tight, try to be positive for Layla. It's gonna take time for her to heal and for the rehab to work.

Have you seen Vals Babybear? OMG he was paralzyed from AAI and for a long, long time we could walk or stand or run, and now he is going non-stop

My prayers are with you both

you are welcome and you are not alone so email val and she would love to talk to you or email you i am sure. I think she is flying back from california soon so not sure she is checking her email or not but i am sure she will respond as soon as she is able. Maybe it will help talking to someone who has gone through a similar experience. I know it always has for me and why i love the support of groups such as this as others love their dogs as much as I do.

I really have nobody around. I do feel very alone. We just moved to a new town 2 weeks before this happened so I didn't get a chance to meet anyone until this weekend. And that didn't go so well. Most people at work are quite a bit older, and I really feel like when I talk about Layla or how upset I am, I would just end up crying and I don't want to be like that with my coworkers.

My brother lives 20 minutes from me but some drama went down a couple of months ago and his girlfriend threatened to leave him and she now hates me and my parents and so now my brother really won't talk to any of our family anymore. My mom did get through to him right after Lay's surgery and told him to call me because I have been really upset, but I never got a call. So he's kind of out of my life now too.

It's just me and Scott on this road to recovery alone with our baby. I know that there is a lot of support and love out there but it's just going to be over the computer.

All of the tears are totally understandable. I'd be the same or worse! All you can do is just keep on keepin' on. You've done a great job so far. There will be ups and there will be downs, but I have lots of faith in both you and Layla.

I can't thank you all enough. I was talking on the phone with my dad last night and I told him about all the support I have from all of you and he told me how nice it is to have so many people to share their stories and send their well wishes. I couldn't imagine going through this if I never found YT!

She is chewing on a bully stick behind me right now and whenever I look at her it feels like my heart might explode. I love her so much.

Linz it shows how much you love her and how much you are willing to sacrifice to get her better again. I think about you both very often and pray very hard that there is a happy ending for you and Layla.
