I have asked them to let us know the names of people and their contact information so that, at the end of the year, they can get a statement for tax purposes. If you do not wish to have that statement, then just tell them not to give us the information.

What all of you should know is that at any time you call one of our vets you may find a zero balance. Many of the specialists require money up front for things of this nature. Our members pay these bills and wait for reimbursement. THAT is why it is not really the way to donate...but, since you insist, there you go. :) It is nice of you to want to help Roriee.

I also suggest that you take a look at our 990s that are on Guidestar to see exactly what we do spend from year to year to care for yorkies/yorkie mixes in need. :)

Randi has surrendered Roriee to the care of Yorkie Haven Rescue. This is the route that Randi chose and obviously she felt comfortable doing so. I don't understand, why, if this is what Randi chose, should the rest of us still be bickering about it. It is beginning to look to me, as an outsider that some of this is nothing more than a personal attack against YHR or some or all of the people who are involved in the day to day operation of this rescue. Should anyone wish to donate to Roriee's care, they must do so through YHR.
Either do it or don't. It has been explained that this is the way it is done. None of the bickering does any good to Roriee or to Randi. I can't imagine how I would feel, if I were Randi reading this after I recover from my surgery, with all this bickering. Randi has made a very difficult decision that I pray that I never have to make. The rest of us should be backing her up on the decision she made and supporting it 100%. She has given Roriee a chance at life, is that not what we all wanted.

Thank you very very much!!! I wasn't trying to be difficult. I just don't want people to have my name, address and all that personal information or how much I donated. I Just want to help, I wasn't worried about where my money was going per-say, just my personal info..

Thanks again. I will be watching for updates. I hope Roriee isn't feeling any pain. That is what is tearing at me right now. No dog, or person should have to endure so much pain.

As for Randi, I have talked to her numerous times and I know exactly what she wanted and I have been behind her 110% through this whole thing.

I will leave it at that and I will honor the wishes of Linda and Ann and leave this for updates and well wishes only.

With that said, my love and support go out to Randi today and of course Roriee...

Roriee Update
 

So far, Roriee is not responding to the medication. The biggest problem right now is her comfort level. She is still screaming whenever she moves even the slightest bit.

The neurologist is not sure if this is pain from the AAI or something possibly related to the GME, perhaps behavioral. He does lean towards it being from pain.

Humane euthanasia is being discussed but we want to be absolutely certain that we have done everything possible to help her.

The plan for today is to complete the infusion of cytosar this morning. We asked about a body cast to see if that might make her more comfortable until we can see if she will respond to the medicine. We will then give it another 24 hours to see how things are going. Sometimes it can take a couple of weeks before the medicine will show improvement. The only way we can have the luxury of that time is if the body cast helps her comfort level.

I personally heard her screams the other day and it was horrific. This is one of the saddest things I have ever encountered.

I know you all are praying for Roriee. You are all total angels for what you have done...the response to her has been so overwhelming to all of us. Thank you is not enough to say for what everyone has done. Your support in so many different ways....kind words and everything is just so appreciated. :)

I totally understand. You can request that they not give us your contact information. We will know the amount because we will be paying the bill. But...let me also say that $1 is totally appreciated. We often have a $1 fundraiser on our website to let people see the power of a dollar...how they add up!

As for Roriee....we will not allow her to remain in pain. You will see that on the update I just posted. :)

I still have a glimmer of hope that Roriee is going to get better. Please everyone, say a prayer for her.

Thanks for the update linda .. my heart is very sick just reading about her pain, I can't imagine seeing hearing this pain.
Just a question: this medication that she is on, does it usually work immediately? or some sort of time delay before it takes effect?

No one would want to see the little dog suffer and be in pain after all possibilities are explored. Still hoping for her, and hoping the meds kick in. But if not, at least we know that the best of efforts were giving.

these pictures of Roriee that are haunting my every thought....does anybody know when they were taken? are they recent?

Myu wife left early today for a business meeting in MI. I gave her the latest update, and she instructed me to make a donation to all of little Yorkies. She was especially PO'd when she say a few of the little ones were 15 and 18 years old. You know, it feels good to donate, and so what, we do not go out and eat this weekend, but it will help! A Hotdog will taste just as good as a steak!

I prefer steak to hotdogs. But, there is nothing like a hotdog grilled over an open flame, burnt almost to a crisp.......Call me crazy, but that's the way I like them.

Oh yeah, nothing like a hot dog covered with all that crispy, carcinogenic black stuff, that makes my mouth water, I think I know what we are having for supper tonite.

Sad news about Roriee. Poor dear sweet Roriee, I shall pray she can get some relief from her agonizing pain.

The medicine can work immediately....or even up to two weeks after the first treatment. The dilema we are faced with is her comfort level. To begin with, we are dealing with a terminal diagnosis. Then, couple that with the pain...how long do you leave her in pain while waiting for a response to a med that honestly will not cure her? IF this body cast helps and she is not screaming in pain, then we will have the luxury of time.

We could also use your prayers because being faced with a decision like that is not going to be easy for anyone.

Chicago Style Dog...Steamed bun, and all the fixin's....fries, and a beverage! My Mouth is now watering! Looks like a trip to Portillo's is in order for lunch!

I hope it doesn't come down to humane euthanasia; though I know there are some things worse than death and that is suffering. I watched my mother suffer before she died and I don't want that for anyone or any animal.

...Sorry I'm feeling this way,:confused: but charges of animal abuse to OP is something to be considered, this has been ongoing FOR MONTHS and what the current health conditions at hand, of this fragile pup, isn't somethign that just happens overnight....

I am just hear broken by this, i feel for what the OP is going through, herself, but let's not loose sight of why this is one of the longest threads either....

You and roriee and all those involved with her care will be in my prayers, hopes, and thoughts today.

Come on now, the poor lady is in the hospital about to have surgery. I peronally believe she feels bad enough, and does not have the resources to help. Bad things happen sometimes, it is part of life. Last thing I would do is to try and charge this person with anyting. YUou thing she does not feel bad enough. Maybe I am just dense, or maybe my heart is in the wrong place. Either way, just let it go, and hope for the best for the Pup and the person.

After reading all this, this is your conclusion?

Randi is today undergoing surgery for cancer and you want to pile that on her? My sense from reading these updates and all the posts from November is that maybe Randi knew intuitively that Roriee has too many problems to overcome. Maybe she, because of her love for Roriee, did what she did. She was able to have some time where she wasn't suffering and did turn back to YT with the relapse. She then did the selfless thing and placed her in the hands of rescue when it became too much.

You are unbelievable....

Ann, feel free to delete my post and whatever you else you need to do. This is totally uncalled for at this time and I won't just let it sit there unchallenged.

I felt very strongly myself. I now understand that this woman really did not understand much of what was going on with Roriee.

She did make the decision to surrender her so that she had a chance. I know how hard that was for her.

She is having surgery right now and I pray it will go well.

Let it go. Roiree was born with serious congenital conditions. Randi did nothing to cause this. Animal cruelty statutes in Georgia deal with basic care - food, water, shelter. At the present, there is no cure for GME even if Randi were a millionaire.

We need to keep our focus on praying for Roiree.
