I"m so sorry to hear about her diagnosis. :( that poor little baby. Thank god she is with YHR now. I know she is being taken care of by a great vet and great foster mom. My prayers go out to all of you, especially Roriee. I hope the treatment helps her out and some of her other symptoms disappear.

I also just want to say that i totally agree with LJ's posts about diagnosing on the internet. If an owner has a medical problem or question they are unsure of they should ask a vet, not strangers on the internet. other people's experiences are great info after the fact but we all must remember that every patient is different and should be treated so, even with common problems. I have seen so much wrong/bad information given out here by people who think they know what they are talking about....

Hey now, don't you go getting sick because stress can lower your immune system. I will send more money in the next few days to help. I also would hope that she is comfortable and they are giving some pain meds.

I have seen many people injured and die in the most terrible of ways. This little episode can bring it all back, how fragile humans and animals are. Let's hope for a favoravle outcome. If not, she was at least given a shot for quality of life. Sometimes it just sucks.

I'm so sad to hear the diagnoses. I hope that Roiree has some comfort and that she responds to the treatment. We will keep her in our prayers.

This poor baby. I pray they can keep her free from pain. So many hurdles to overcome; but she has touched so many people in her little short life so far. If she only knew how many people are praying for her today . . . . I'm going to keep positive and send those thoughts her way.

I applaud everyone who has been involved in helping little Roriee and I'm thankful and grateful for the help and support she is receiving.

Sending well wishes to this precious little angel for a healthy recovery. Thank you LJ and everyone who has helped Roriee. Animals have such a strong will power and I hope she feels the concern and love of everyone who is following her on her journey to health.

This news is devastating for Roriee....... LJ you must feel so numb, and emotionally drained from all of this. All anyone can ask is that you do the best you can and carry on with courage, strength, and compassion.....and hope for the best outcome possible under the circumstances.....What other choice is there but to hope? We have two options, medically and emotionally: give up, or fight like hell. I know you'll be fighting for Roriee with all you got, I'll even provide you with the bat......;)

We must also remember as well that not everything is in our control. We might like to think it is, hope that it is, but there are times it simply isn't. We are all praying for the best possible outcome for Roriee.....Don't forget to take some time for yourself, even if you just need to cry or be alone with your thoughts for a little while.......Bless you and all your doing for the little ones who can't help themselves.

Lady Jane is the Rescuer and dealing with more stress in obtaining care for this wee one. This thread is being devoted to Roriee.

I disagree. All threads especially in the sick & injured are educational. I commend and pray for Ladyjane to have the strength to get through this for her and Roriees sake . You have to realize that others are very concerned for Roriee as well.

Roiree went undiagnosed for as long as she did because she had an owner without the resources to pursue the diagnoses and/or treatment. Roiree's saving grace was YHR and her diagnoses and treatments have been paid for by that organization which is reliant upon public donations. Those of us that have donated to Roiree's care would like to read this thread for updates. I think the Mod is developing a library of information on this topic (AAI, GME, and hydrocephaly) where pet owners can read about the conditions and then bring their questions to licensed veterinarians for credible information and individualized plans for their own dogs.

Wylie's Mom has started a educational thread on Roriee's issues to keep this thread completely devoted to Roriee's progress and the path clear for Lady Jane to keep us updated. Ann has made several posts regarding these issues.

Yes, I am going to correct you on this. Go to the original thread and read it thoroughly. You will see MANY different guesses about what this pup had...typical guessing for whatever reason people do it.( Vets do not guess...they run tests and examine and make diagnoses. They dont need online people to tell them what tests to run and they dont need to run every test known to man to come to a conclusion) AND...then pay particular attention to the fact that Randi said her vet suspected encephalitis and one of the posters said it was NOT encephalitis.

There are many places on YT for people to learn about specific illnesses. I asked for the nonsense to stop and seriously people need to take time to respect owners and whoever is caring for a pup instead of insisting that they have their say about what the pup has or does not have and what type of vet to use...yada yada).

What I hope they learn from THIS thread is the importance of going to vets....and the importance of giving up a pup if you cannot afford to care for it. To do the loving thing for the sake of the pup. I ALSO hope that certain people will think about what they suggest to people. Sure...you can say on one hand to go to a neurologist...but then on the next turn you say that the neuro is wrong in his suspicions??? What kind of message is that to a person who has a sick pup???

You are correct that education is the key and that is why we have asked 2 simple things regarding the care and diagnosis of Roriee.

The Vet that has Roriee in his care will be making all of the decision regarding her care. As this information becomes available LadyJane will update everyone as to the treatment plan. It becomes very confusing when there are all kinds of links and "internet vets" giving their own diagnosis. This is not needed or asked for and makes it difficult to follow along with the prescribed treatment plan.

Having Roriee in the care of YHR has been a very emotional time for everyone involved. I would like to ask that we ALL stay positive and focused. YHR has had plenty of very sick pups in their care over the years. The advice of our Vets will be followed and appropriate decision will be made now and in the future for all of the Haven pups. Appropriate treatment is decided by our vets and we never look to lay people for advice or a course of treatment. This is a simple and basic foundation of YHR.

Please feel free to follow the treatment plan and learn along with everyone else regarding all of the issues involved in the complex care of Roriee. We are not asking you to donate to her care that is a choice that has been made by some members and is greatly appreciated.

Once again I would like to ask that we all stay focused and positive. Learning will come as her treatment plan progresses. Thank you. :)

I have read and followed this thread and I don't see where anyone gave diagnosis only suggestions. As far as places on YT to learn, this is the place as not all dogs with the same disease will have the same symptoms such as Bella with Chiari and little Roriee with so many things going on . Giving suggestions will put the fear in some owners to get their pups to the vet in a timely manner or hopefully if they cannot afford treatment they will turn it over to rescue in a timely manner so the dog does not suffer needlessly. And honestly thank God Roriees owner was on YT or who knows what would have happened to her or how much longer she could have suffered.

NO ONE should count on a Yorkie forum to save their dogs EVER! That is the reason that doctors practice medicine. If my dog needed to be diagnosed I sure the HE!! would be at my vet and not on YT looking for a diagnosis.

Someone can come here for suggestions but I have seen way too many diagnosing for my liking from wanna be vets.
