This whole story breaks my heart. ![]() I am so happy this little one may be saved, but the heartbreak that this family is going thru is far more than I can imagine. I am going to give my Izzy a big hug now and be thankful that we have her.

What a story...tears are flowing over here too! You are a Good Family ![]() P.S. I would give up one of mine to save their life as well...it would break my heart too, but I would do anything to give them a chance at a happy and healthy life - my thoughts and prayers are with you and your family and the lil' Monster

Oh man. Is there no other way. Can you call in some debts ? or borrow the money from someone ? I would hate for you to go through with the turn over then in a day or 2 realize you had other options.

See I hate to hear stories like this! To the op, I am so sorry! You have my complete sympathy. You are doing the right and compassionate thing and it shows you truly love your baby more than you care about your own feelings. It's a very loving and unselfish thing you're doing. I just wish there was more we could do to help in situations like this. I know that vets need to make money and they probably get stiffed is they didn't do this but I just wish it didn't happen.....

Guess who still has her babyboy??? And guess who is up and running and tearing up my house today?? YAYYYY!!!! My baby was all set to go to the new mommy and she saw how upset i was (( i could barely stop crying)) so she told me to try and see if giving Monster a suppository((sp?)) would maybe help him pass whatever he swallowed.. So, we agreed i would take him home and try, she said a mini schnauzer had come in after swallowing a lego and the vet recommended he be put down but she told the owner to try the same thing and the dog pooped it out the next day!!! so i did it and guess what???? He went to the restroom, didnt really seem any better, just more tired, but i noticed him sniffing so i tried to offer some chicken broth, like i was told and he slurped it!!! then i gave him a little boiled chicken and he ate 2 tiny morsels!!! so after he slept and woke up, he was super thirsty so i spoon fed him water and he slurped it, then he followed me to the kitchen and drank all the water in his bowl.. and has been increasingly more playful, (he even dry humped his fave toy!!!) i am sooooooooooo happy!!! he has an appt with a DIFFERENT vet on tomorrow morning just as a recheck and to make sure he passed whatever was blocking him up.. My pumpkin is all the way back to normal, his tummy is filling out again and he is running at breakneck speed thru the whole house!!! i couldnt be happier.. i dont think i have ever kissed him this much.. lol.. pukey lil face and all... Tell me God doesnt answer prayer!!!!!!!!!!

Hey all, i cannot believe what a difference a day makes!!! my baby is back to living up to his name!! he has a clean bill of health and i have just given him a bath. He is hopping around and so happy its too cute!! I am really upset that my former vet didnt ever suggest any home remedies or anything that may have helped my baby out. I am so happy that thru this ordeal i was led to some great people and this great website where i have learned a lot and got a new vet that loves my baby!! and he is not out to clean my wallet out, but more to make sure my baby stays healthy.. yay for all the vets and nurses out there who really care!! what a difference!!!!

| Nurses are so great. They really are some of the most caring people out there - I swear and they have such great common sense, so much more than Dr.'s in my opinion... You were so lucky that you came across such a great lady and nurse with common sense it sounds like. I'm happy for you and your family and so glad that your lil monster is doing wonderful by the sounds of it, and that he's still with you and your family

So happy to read about your happy ending. I give you so much credit for being brave enough to give him up for his own good, though. That must have been agony. I know when our toy poodle died last year, it was devastating. I think it's a shame that some vets just don't try something simple. The first vet I used for Cinni, the poodle, was awful. He really took advantage of me and it cost me a fortune. I don't have that kid of money; I'm a single mom of 4. But when you don't know about something you put your trust in them and end up burned. I found another vet for Cinni and they were great, just a little too far out of the way for my liking. This time around I asked a lot of people I trust who they used and found a guy in the next town over. We've only had one appointment so far, but I think I like him. (Though he was a bit bossy on things like crating ... I prefer not to.) But I think he seems fair and reasonably priced. Hoping we don't have any big issues to contend with. Really, I am so happy to read your updates and know Monster will be staying with you and your kids.

@ Lilymae,I have been digging thru poop for a week now, lol.. and havent found anything yet. i live in the high desert and we have no grass, so it should be easy enough to spot but i havent seen anything..:0/ but he is wonderful!!!! gaining his weight back and barking and growling at EVERYTHING..lol.. He is such a joy!!! I definitely thank God daily for healing my lil guy..Sometimes he kisses me and just looks at me like "thank u so much mom".. my oldest son(17) laughs and says, yeah but u almost gave him away!!! its kinda funny.. I am soooooooooooo glad he got better BEFORE i gave him to the nurse.. I am also glad that i found a great vet now that i can call on and TRUST... guess everything really does happen for a reason
