No Longer a Member | Iceland Volcano Hey all, I'm new here but wanted to share. I went to the airport yesterday to pick up my new pup and found out, after the 3 hour commute that the flight had been canceled. Okay...I wait in line for probably 2 hours to find out more, when I get to the counter all they can say is sorry, but due to the volcano nothing would be leaving Prague (apparently thats where his connection is). They couldn't even tell me when I could expect the flight to be able to leave. I keep checking the website and nothing is even flying into Rome, the one that I did talk to that thought they'd be able to fly had to cancel. And now I can't even get any word from the breeder. I've blown up their email box to see if they've checked in with the person transporting the little guy, and I haven't received any word at all. I'm extremely worried, I hope they didn't send him off on his own, and now he's left in some cargo bay with no one to look after him. | That's terrible, who knows were that pup is. The breeder should be on top of this and keeping you informed.

| When my cousin was shipping his Black Russian Terrier pup from the an overseas breeder, pup ended up in Paris and the meet up DID NOT show. They got a call from Air France that pup could not board its plane to the US because of the pups poor health. The crew refused to load the pup onto the plane because they feared it would not survive the flight. They did reach the Breeder who was as frantic as them. They ended up calling an animal rescue in Paris to get to the airport and attend to the needs of the pup. Lucky for them a Black Russian pup is larger and was able to go longer without basic needs. I hope you get in touch with the breeder soon. Does the airline have record of where the dog is? Let us know. |

| Perhaps the breeder from Praha didn't send puppie ,because in my land,Poland there were cancelled all flys since yesterday. As you probably heard, there were a tragical accident with polish president's aireplane (there were died 96 persons with our president and his wife).and today many VIPs from all world, encluding the President of USA would like to come to Poland for tommorow for funeral....And until today there was a problem if the weather will be ok for landing all those aireplanes. And we know that all those volcanos ashes are going to the south - to Praha. |

| Deuce: So sorry to hear of your sad situation, I feel for the poor pup. Would not the airline have a record of whether or not the pup was 'shipped', and if so where it was now?? And what they do about in-transit and delayed pets? If it is still in Prague, would it be possible to locate a rescue etc to take care of the pup until perhaps you could fly or drive/train to pick it up. Lets hope the dog was not sent by the breeder and that you get news from her or somewhere very soon. Poor baby and you too, you must be worried to death. Good Luck, my prayers are with you. |

No Longer a Member | Thanks all for the helpful words. Luckily just a short while after this the breeder called and let me know that the pup was safe and being looked after in Prague. As soon as they know when he gets to fly again he'll give me a call. It was such a huge relief to hear from him. Though news reports are saying that there isn't a end in site for the ash cloud, so maybe I will try to convince my boss to let me take a train up to get him. At least I know he is getting his essentials and with someone to take care of his needs. |

| Deuce Hello again: What a relief!!!!! Wow you must be so happy the pup is safe and well - and not in some horrible airport holding area. It was so good that the breeder contacted you and put your mind at rest. The Iceland volcano air situation sounds a real mess, and perhaps the only solution will be that your (kind!) boss will allow you time to go by train to pick the little one up soon. Good Luck and please let us know how this all turns out. |

No Longer a Member | Just so everyone knows, the little guy made it I'm a little concerned with all his shaking, but maybe its because he's in an unfamiliar place, with a curious kitty. (they're actually getting along pretty well considering they've only been around each other for 4 hours.) Thanks again for the moral support, this site is great. |
