| Please update us as soon as you can... Poor little thing...sure does not sound good. Especially if it is happening after a meal. I personally would have called the breeder on day 1 and requested she/he get this pup checked and bile acid tested. How much does she weigh? How old? Did the breeder not explain that tinies need to eat every 4-6 hours round the clock? Sorry this has happened to you. Will be praying for your baby. |

| Oh Lord. It does sound like Liver Shunt. Patti is right - she should be getting fed every 2-3 hours as she's still so young and can quite easily go into hypoglycemic shock. NutriCal should be a staple when you have such a small puppy. I'm not sure why you're having to give Albon either. I've never had to give either of my dogs any kind of medication (other than after spay/neuter). Your breeder sold you this puppy way too young. And if this is Liver Shunt - she should be responsible for the vet care that she'll need. It's really sad that you have to go through this when you're so excited about getting a new member of your family. Please keep us posted. Best Wishes!

| also keep in mind hypoglycemia and liver shunt go hand in hand as liver shunt dogs do not want to eat as it makes them sick if too high in protein so then the dog refuses to eat then gets hypoglycemic so it is a vicious cycle going on so always be skeptical if you have a puppy that does not want to eat there is usually something health related going on so always should be checked out |

| also i think this breeder knew she sold you a puppy that was having seizures as it does not sound like this just happened over night please contact this breeder as she should be responsible for this vet care and she should have never let this puppy go at that size until much older |

![]() ![]() sorry to you losing your little guy ......Liver shunt and seizures seem so rampant these days and seems worse with the super small bred yorkiesI hate to hear about any dog suffering but like someone said - LS isn't a death sentence but it DOES need to be treated or you're going to have a very sick little dog who could die if not helped quickly. From what I've read every seizure can have worse and worse effects on their little systems there's lots of info on it on this site and good luck...hopefully this is something treatable....from what I read the pain is pretty bad with LS for them | |

| Sorry we haven't had a chance to give an update with everything that has been happening. Right after my last post we went to the vet and they ran a glucose level check and put an IV in her. They said they could keep her and run more test but they wouldn't know how long and it would have cost a lot (800ish a day, emergency vet). So we stepped outside and talked to each other and decided to pay for it anyway somehow thinking there must be a payment plan. But before we went back in we decided that we can bring her back to the breeder. We called them, got no answer, but decided to bring her back right then anyway. We drove 4 hours back to where we got her, she had one seizure (which is good, she was having them every 30minutes), and looked amazing when we got there compared to the dead look she had when we left =] . She is being taken care of now, getting healthier, and will be back with her mother for a little while so she can finish building up her body & immunities better. yay. (just to answer what some said: they did say they felt on the fence about sending her out so early. so as soon as she has her stabilities up we are going back to pick her up. yay.) Did you know that Yorkies are 36 times more likely to be born with a liver shunt than all other breeds combined? Although Dr. Center recommends routine bile acid testing be done when they are a little older, a symptomatic puppy can be tested at 12 weeks according to Dr. Center. | |

| I agree also. Please make sure this pup is healthy before picking her up and demand Bile acid tests...they run a little over a hundred bucks but need to be done on her as she showed major signs of problems with liver shunt.. |
