| Tila's acting weird She woke me up at 9:30am this morning. She was scratching at her chin. She keeps like licking her lips, well kind of like smacking her lips. At one point she jumped out of her bed and sat beside it and scratched and then just laid there. I decided to get up and see if she wanted to come out of her crate. I let her out and she came into the living room and I went to the bathroom I came out and she was laying on one of the beds in the living room. Well, since then she's been clingy, has her tail tucked, she's still scratching once in awhile and smacking her lips a bit. I'm not sure what is going on, I checked her mouth and didn't see anything. I did go ahead and call the vet and Tila has an appointment at 5 today. I just want make sure there's nothing wrong, my family is probably going to tell me I worry too much. |

| Well, family is just like that. Just ignore 'em and take care of your girl. It a good idea to get her checked out. My first thought is teeth and gums, but since you already checked that, not sure here. Is she just scratching her chin or all over?

| Nope she's just scratching her chin, the left side. Weird. I checked in her mouth, nothing. Checked under her chin through the hair, nothing. She got teeth pulled when she got spayed so she doesn't have any left in there, that shouldn't be there. Hmm, it's got me puzzled. |

Donating YT 30K Club Member | She may have a tummy upset. I think licking lips can be a sign of nausea. Hope the vet can make her feel better.

| Could be an abcess, keep an eye on her. Sometimes the abcess will fill and cause pain, drooling, lip smacking, itching. When the pressure is released, or abcess manages to drain on it's own, dog will return to normal behavior. In 2-4 days it may fill up again, causing same symptoms as you described. Sometimes antibiotics is all that is needed, or tooth removal, if chronic. Can go septic (blood poisoning)(very serious) if ignored.
