| Update on Halo... Some of you may remember, last week I posted about my teapot Halo. She started out vomitting then refused to eat anything for a whole week. Vet was trying different meds, giving her fluids and nothing! Finally, when I took her in on Friday (for more fluids) we discovered a tick that was almost embedded on her tummy! I really don't know how long it had been there, because of her hair it looked like one of her little boobies. What caught my eye was the reddnes...terribly red all around it. Vet got the tick, changed her meds to Doxycycline and a low dose cortisone and she is SOOO much better now. He's convinced it was all caused from the tick. He'll treat her with these meds till he's sure she's ok. Don't have a clue where it came from, I faithfully use Comfortis every month. Watch your babies, they are so precious and I hated seeing her so sick, I suffered right along with her.

| I'm glad that Halo is getting better Comfortis is only for fleas though, not ticks.

| Oh, you know, I had forgotten about that! Man.......guess I'll have to go back to Advantix. Oh! that makes me so mad at myself! I could have been the cause for my baby suffering so much!

| I am so glad she's feeling better!! I had no idea one tick could make them so ill.

| A tick? Who would have guessed such a thing would make her not want to eat for almost a week. I'm so happy you found it and she's now on the road to getting back to herself. I have found three ticks on Buddy over the years and I use Frontline Plus. Not all ticks are covered by Frontline, not that I know the difference, however that's what they stated when I called them. So perhaps Comfortis is the same. You must be so relieved. |

| So - now I have to start checking Mr. Darcy for ticks, as well as fleas. I use Advantage (Canada). Hope it works!! Just a side question - Has anyone noticed their furbaby seeming a little "off' after applying flea stuff? I thought I had heard this from somewhere.....
