| Coccidia is usually most transferable to young pups whose immune systems have not yet developed fully. Your adult dog should be ok, unless his immune system is suppressed by chronic disease. I would just be cautious about where the little one leaves his feces and clean up immediately after; just to be on the safe side. |

| As long as your pup is on the antibiotic, for coccidia, the diarreah and vomiting will stop in about 3 or 4 days, but use the meds for the full 10 days...Main thing is to keep their blood sugar up w/a little bit of karo or nutracal 2 or 3 times a day (only about 1/8 tsp.), if the pup has stopped eating...It's true, that healthy adult dogs won't usually get coccidia, and the advice about cleaning up, right after your pup poops is important...After you pick up poop, I'd wipe over w/vinegar water...Your pup, probably, won't feel good for about 10 or two weeks, but then should be all back to normal.... |
