Furbutts = LOVE Donating Member Moderator | UGH. We have been at about 10.5 for weeks now - just OFF the scale . I am such a....dork...that I have pollen.com email me daily whenever the pollen count is above 4 (I believe I chose 4) - just so I can track any breakthrough symptoms for Marcel. Pretty interesting bc the pollens SHOT up a few weeks ago (from 3-4 to 10+) and sure enough, Marcel had a tad of paw chewing.

When Marcel's allergies weren't under control, he would get conjunctivitis if his eyes were irritated for too long. I can always tell if his eyes are getting an infection bc the "gunk" gets darker (and it can get greenish), and it gets a little stinky/sour smelling. If Lulu's eyes are just irritated, and have the white goo, they may be just irritated from the pollens, but no infection - but something to watch for. The fact that Benadryl is working a bit is a diagnostic clue - so, it does seem you're dealing w/ seasonal/pollen allergies here. See how that works for a while. Like Deb mentioned, Zyrtec works well for dogs, and Claritin is also used, and there are a couple others - but those last 2 are nice bc of longer duration of action .
