Thank God, I was worried sick. He is one of my favorite YT yorkies;) I can't imagine what you were going through. give him lots of luvins from me and the Girls:) big hug to you Darlene, I am so glad he is doing ok!:D |
I'm so glad Bailey is feeling better. I know the fear and emotions of seeing your dog like that - it is horrible. You're right that some of us in urban locations can't imagine what it's like to not have veterinary care minutes way at all hours of the night. I don't know how you got through it. Sometimes our babies get a cold or just eat something "off" just like we do and they throw up or feel sick. It's scary. you've already gotten some great advice. My only addition to it is to keep Bailey on some home cooked bland food for a few days to get him back on track. I hope he continues to get back to his little self very soon! |
HE answers all prayers! |
I'm so glad to hear that your little man is feeling better. Hope he continues to feel even better and is 100% soon. I came on here to check for an update as soon as could. Thank goodness. :) |
I couldn't even read all the post, my heart sank to the floor:(, i had to scan through the rest finding yours!!! I'M SO GLAD HE'S DOING BETTER!!! When ones down, WE ALL FEEL IT!!!;) My thought was something happend w/ b/f's dogs and possible head trauma, with the tuffs that you mentioned, being cause from his dogs pulling his hair and possible shaking him like a lil toy...SORRY BUT I witnessed my last Yorkie being picked up by the scruff, while in OUR YARD, going potty while our neighbor's LAB ran up behind her and grabbed her and "tossed" her.. Nothign happend to her, but my screams were heard through the 'hood and our neighbors came out one with a drawn gun....YEAH GO FIGURE:eek: SO GLAD YOUR BABY IS DOING BETTER!!!! |
if the dogs he was left with are larger, it could be that they were playing too rough and hurt your dog neurologically. -neck or back- hope he improves. |

Thank God Bailey is ok, and let's pray that whatever the mysterious cause was that this never happens again. Whew, got some rest now and hug that little one! |

Yep, I would definitely never leave them alone together again no matter how well they act when you are present. Better safe than sorry. |
It sounds like your boyfriend's dogs got too rough with your little one. The 'tufts of fur' are an obvious sign. There's probably something internal going on, a great deal of damage can be done without breaking the skin. Did the vet do an X-ray? The low blood pressure could mean an internal bleed. This is the exact reason I don't EVER leave mine around other larger dogs, or dogs that aren't typically around my own. Dogs are pack animals, and they always resort to their primitive behavior. Since yorkies can be little obnoxious dominants, they're often left mauled when a larger dominant gets fed up with their behavior. Or, larger dogs simply play a little too rough with the pint size fluff balls. I would never leave him alone again with said dogs unless he's removed from them with a baby gate or something similar. You need to see a second vet, there's obviously something wrong with him. |

I agree. Better safe than sorry. *just in case* :) |
Thanks again Everyone, Bailey seems to be getting back to his old self, he is still not has rambunctious, but if he had some sort of trauma that is to be expected I guess. The last poop he had although not firm, but also not runny like the previous poop. I've just been giving him mixed vegetables and I also gave him a egg white. He gobbled it down. I am still worried about liver shunt because I read so much about the little ones on here that are suffering from it, and it terrifies me. Mauigirl asked about his ALT's on his blood work sheet and this was the results... 62 U/L 10-100 Showing in the normal range. Does anyone know exactly what that is or means? |
Oh Darlene, I am so relieved for both you and Bailey! You were both in my thoughts and prayers and I was nervous to log in this afternoon! I am so glad to hear that he is doing better and will continue to pray for him to completely recover! Whew... the things these babies put us through! |

I hope your pup continues to to improve |
Glad to hear he's doing better. Mine had a seizure when she was a puppy and they figured she may have a liver shunt, however since 06 she hasn't had any issues. Thank goodness! |
