Thanks again Everyone, Bailey seems to be getting back to his old self, he is still not has rambunctious, but if he had some sort of trauma that is to be expected I guess. The last poop he had although not firm, but also not runny like the previous poop. I've just been giving him mixed vegetables and I also gave him a egg white. He gobbled it down.
I am still worried about liver shunt because I read so much about the little ones on here that are suffering from it, and it terrifies me. Mauigirl asked about his ALT's on his blood work sheet and this was the results... 62 U/L 10-100 Showing in the normal range. Does anyone know exactly what that is or means?

That appears to be within normal range (assuming 10-100 is normal). ALT shows liver damage, like in the case of poisoning. Bile Acids tell you if the liver is filtering out toxins like it is supposed to, so when it is high you'd need to check further for liver shunt or MVD (microvascular dysplasia).

I went to bed and finally went to sleep around 6:30 and was awaken by the phone at 9am by my bf Bill asking how Bailey was, and telling me he was going to drop over and see him and pick me up a coffee. Then I noticed Bailey was on the bed with me..I'm blind in the morning without contacts or glasses:rolleyes: Well I petted him down and got up and went to the kitchen, I hear Bailey and went to check and saw that he had done a runny poop, he went to lay down in the living room, I noticed he was not wobbling like hrs before. I brought him in some mixed vegetables, and he ate them like he was very hungry ( of course he was ) I petted him and told him I loved him and I needed him to get better.
About an half hour later Bill comes to the door, Bailey heard him at the door and was already there to greet him, I was in the washroom at the time. When I came out to the living room, Bill was on the floor with Bailey and Bailey was jumping all over him, trying to bite Bill's goatee and seem his normal excite self, the way he usually acts when he sees my bf!
He was running around, no more wobbles, his eyes seemed clear! My heart started racing, Bill sat on the sofa and Bailey went up the ramp on the sofa to join him, trying to get at a sub sandwich my bf had:D
I'm am totally bewildered by this. Bill couldn't believe the difference, and I was almost to afraid this was happening, that he was going to be fine, afraid I might jinx it, He is still not 100% but so, so much better!

I thank Everyone for your prayers, kind thoughts, PM's and input! This forum and so many of the members are the most kind caring people I've ever come to know!
I still don't know what caused this, I wish I new exactly. I do not believe it was my bf's dogs, because they are very good with Bailey, I am leaning more to thinking he hurt his head. From now on if I have to leave him at Bill's alone, I will keep him in a gated room where he cannot get hurt!, I've learned my lesson, I thought I was going to lose him, I really did, I don't want to feel like that ever again. Please continue to keep my little Bailey in your thoughts and prayers for a full recovery. He still has a little ways to go, but I am hoping he will be completely better and this will all be a horrible lesson on my part.

I hope he continues to get better. I was going to say that perhaps he suffered a slight concussion. That will cause dizziness, nausea, loss of appetite, etc, and it is hard to diagnose in a small animal. He could have jumped and fallen, or one of the other dogs could have rapped him on the head.

Aw hun what an awful scare you had there i am glad your little bailey is back on the mend,It sound's as if he could of had a bump to his head.
Maybe if you are worried when you have to pop out you could pop him into a little doggy crate so as you know he will be safe.
Hug's to you and bailey.

jenn1381 03-03-2010 05:17 PM

So glad he's doing better! It's so darn scary when they are sick, they can't TELL us what's wrong or what happened, and we often are left guessing. Oliver was throwing up a LOT this summer, blood a few times, and I was a MESS.. I know how you feel. Hope he continues to improve and whatever happened doesn't happen again!

Gennies 03-03-2010 05:18 PM

Oh thank goodness! I've been praying that the next time I looked at yt you'd have wonderful news on here. I'm so happy he's doing better. I'm so sorry this happened!! ((((((((((Hugs)))))))))))

Darlene68 03-03-2010 05:50 PM

Thanks so much, Yes, I will never leave Bailey alone to roam the house with the other dogs ever again, from now he will be gated in a separate room if I have to leave him, I'm not taking any more chances with my little guy, this was way to scary and I never want to experience it again!!!

so happy he is better probably hurt his little head :( i would separate the dogs for sure next time and keep him by himself just to be safe. The girl who owns the pet store by me had two dogs a jack russell and a pit bull mix and they were the best of buddies and loved each other and they were playing and the pit killed the jack russell broke his neck and it was not intentional at all as these two played all the time and loved one another and the pit was depressed for months over losing his buddy so i think when bigger dogs are with smaller dogs having them supervised just to be safe is always good. I know many separate their yorkies too as when the door bell rings or say a bird flies by like mine they go crazy and some dogs attack each other at times like this so better to be safe than sorry
