Sending lots of XXXX and prayers from me and my Bailey to yours!!!!! Quote:

Darlene, my thoughts and prayers are with you and Bailey tonight. I hope that he starts feeling better very soon and that it is nothing serious. Please keep us posted. |
I'm still worried, but....as was mentioned, you need to stay calm & keep your wits about yourself. Could someone weight in on if it'd be ok to take an eye dropper & try to get little water down him? Have you tried the nutrical? As I'm not an expert on these matters. Also, you could call a vet emg office in a bigger town & explain your situtation. Sending prayers. |
I am just seeing this. My heart breaks for you....I don't know what I would do without a vet close by. I will be praying for your little Bailey. I hope he is ok. |
I am so very sorry that your little Bailey is sick. I will keep him and you in my prayers. Please keep us posted. |
Thank you all so much for your kindness. Does anyone know if I should try to give him some water? I'm sure he must be thirsty. I am trying to stay calm but I'm shaking like a leaf and feel sick to my stomach from worrying I guess. Should I try rubbing some karo on his gums?. he is so small, he has never gone so long without eating. |
Darlene, check his gums to see if they are wet. If they are sticky to touch, yes, try to get fluids in him. |
I'm so sorry to read this, sending prayers your way. |
Darlene, what I do when I'm scared (don't mean to sound like I'm preaching). Just say, "In the name of Jesus, devil be gone". It will work. It's the devil thats making you scared & shaking. YOU will calm down. It works. Bless you. |
Darlene, I am just reading this. My heart is breaking for you and Bailey right now. I am praying that he is ok. We know how you are feeling, so PLEASE keep us updated on him. I hate it when you know your baby is sick but you don't know what is wrong and there is nothing you can do but be there to comfort them. We all just love lil Bailey! I would definitely try to offer him some water. Check his gums and make sure they are not white or sticky. How is he doing, still laying down? How far would you have to drive to the nearest town with another vet or perhaps a university vet hospital? You said your vet tested on liver shunt, did he/she do a bile acid test? If so, what were the numbers? |
Bailey just got up to get a drink of water, he is very unsteady on his feet, it's like his back legs are about to give out on him and he walks kind of to the side, and his eyes look like they aren't focusing properly, they are very glazed looking :( He went right back and lied down. The next closest vet is an 8 hr drive away, and it\'s all dirt road, that vet clinic is not much better then the one in my town. I mentioned liver shunt to the vet, but he said very little about it, and I don\'t think he tested for it because it isn\'t on the bloodwork paper I have. I am going to call tomorrow and ask about liver shunt, I know so little about it. I feel like I\'ve done an awful thing bringing Bailey to a town where I knew how poor the vet services are. |
I am sending all of my strentgh to you and Penny is giving Bailey her shoulder to lean on and a nice fluffy back to rest his head on...You just have to calm down Bailey can sence your distress and it really isnt helping him at all focus send him warm loving energy it sounds like he hit his head we are praying that morning light brings about his recovery keep us posted |
So sorry Bailey is ill, and I know you won\'t be getting much sleep tonight. I\'m sending prayers and hugs to both of you, and hope it will all go away as mysteriously as it started. |
On blood work sheet, look for ALT or bile acids, those are related to liver. Is there a chance he could have been bitten by a poisonous spider? Just guessing, as I remember another person\'s yorkie who did and had some of the same symptoms, though I think the back legs got rigid. |
