| No, we did SNAP cPL only. She just had bloodwork two weeks ago and I didn't want to repeat it. Vet looked at two pics and says they are pink. I say they are, but they are also lighter than normal. She is okay and I'm sure she will be fine, but I would like to see them get a bit darker personally.

| Here is a pic. She wasn't happy with me. They are definitely pink, but just not as dark as we are used to seeing. But she has been cleared by her vet, so we are just watching to make sure they don't get any lighter. It is likely a difference that only an owner would be able to see anyway...

I see a lot of posts on YT about the color of gums being used as a measurement for dehydration and that is not a way to measure for that. I posted this not long ago....it is a good site with lots of info about checking gums: How Do I Check My Dog’s Gums? - All Pet Health Articles Anemia In Dogs Blue

She has been dehydrated all weekend and your vet does not think she should be on fluids? Honestly, I am stunned.

| That was probably worded wrong. She was dehydrated yesterday morning, so the vet wanted her to be seen as soon as possible. She was given fluids and sent home. She was a bit dehydrated this morning, I think, but she was allowed to have water, so now she is fine. Vet wouldn't even think of letting her stay dehydrated...

| I am still thinking about you guys and hope you can get her well soon. You have Roxy's diet already, but I wonder if something more along those lines would help her? To me it seems pretty low in fat. And I did start them on the VSL#3 and it works very well. I am on vaca but once I get back (next weekend) I can send you a few packets if you want to try it? | Nicole, isn't that a probiotic? We had tried a different one made for animals awhile back and I don't think it did a thing. So I asked her nutritionist about probiotics and she isn't impressed. IN fact, she had gotten some complaints of GI upset while not seing benefits at that time. So I'm just not sure. It just makes me so nervous to try things when GI upset for her caused by a supplement could just irritate so much in there. Ya know? Thanks for the Iams suggestions. Ellie has allergies which those types of diets make worse for her. They also tend to make her SIBO/IBD issues worse. Lissette, she is doing very well today. Like nothing ever happened. Thanks everybody.

| Crystal, have you ever tried Mirtazapine for nausea and loss of appetite? Holy crapola, Linda told me about it and wow, this is how and why Lola gained her appetite. I give her one fourth tab a day and she eats like a little pig. She was very very sick and did not want to eat or drink and became amemic and anorexic. Please ask your vet about it. Its a miracle drug. Better than anything else including CERENIA which really never helped Lola much. |
