| ![]() i understand how you are feeling right now.....my max started having seizures back in may and i can't even count how many he had in one night. it was the scariest thing i have ever been through! unfortunatly, turned out his was a liver shunt. he had surgery a few days later and has been seizure free ever since! you would never know anything happened to him. you and your little one are in our prayers!!!

| ![]() My heart goes out to you and your family. We had a brittany spaniel who had siezures. Many a time I rushed her to the vet and had tests done and they could never find a reason. She lived to be 15 years old. It was very hard to watch her while seizing, I would just sit with her and talk to her. until it was over. I hope your baby will be ok! Our prayers are with you!

| ![]() Roxy had no new seizures since 10:40pm last night. Thank God! But she isn't the same. She is very different this morning. i tried to give her "Patrick starfish" her favorite stuffed squeeky toy and when I squeezed it she jumped and ran away. Same goes for her other toys. She sniffed around the house like she has never been here. Has this ever happened to anyone else after their dog had a lot of seizures? My 9 year old is afraid now. he witnessed 2 last night. I sent him to his room immediately, but the vision is in his mind now. He is afraid to come with me to pick her up when she is done. I dropped her off at 7:45 this morning and just called to check on her. They said they are still doing the tests and they would call when she is done. I am very anxious. Brooke, I am glad to hear about Max's results. I like to hear happy endings. I hope it turns out as good for us. Roxy's Mom, Maria ![]() ![]() |

| ![]() Poor Maria and Roxy, my heart goes out to you... Did you have and Acid Bile Test done on Roxy? That would be in my opinion "the" test to do. That would demonstrate if the seizures are related to a liver disfunction, shunt or Mycrovascular dysplasia... Please keep uf posted. Hugs |

| ![]() Yes, Zoe's Mom, Roxy is in the hospital now getting the Bile acid test done as I write this. They are also doing blood tests, Urinalysis and blood glucose. I'll keep everyone updated after I pick her up. Roxy's Mom, Maria |

| ![]() Yes, Scooter was the same way ..It took him awhile to relearn things, how to play, how to bark, even his name he didn't seem to know. It was like having a baby puppy and seeing them do things for the first time. But as the seizure got fewer between, he didn't have a problem remembering things. He would have one, shake it off then he was back to normal. Let us know what you find out....Sherry Quote:

My heart goes out to you and your family. It is so hard to go through this. My Yorkie, Pixie went through tests for liver shunt. I thought I'd lose my mind. It turned out to be a severe allergic reaction to her (dog food) diet (would you believe allergic to potatoes) after major tests and several vets. She has recovered completely but I'm still a recovering work in progress. I will keep Roxy and you in my thoughts and prayers. Keep posting and hang in there. Jessica & Pixie | |

| ![]() max acted really weird after his seizures too....ran around backwards, wouldn't let us touch him. it was like he didn't know us and was spooked. i know it is really really hard to go through, but hopefully you will get some answers when the tests are run today. when max had his bile acids tested, his fasting was in the 90's (normal is <10) and his 2 hour after eating result was in the high 300's (normal is <20). they knew right away it was a liver shunt. he had to be put on low protein dog food and lactulose. anyway, please keep us posted and we'll be praying for you!!!

| ![]() Thanks for the info Jessica and Brooke. Everyone on this site is so friendly and helpful. It helps to get so many different perspectives on seizures. It's 1:30pm and I am STILL waiting for a call!! Haven't heard anything yet. I can't imagine what is taking so long. I want to call again. This is torture, plain and simple. I can't wait to hear the results, but I am afraid to hear them at the same time. My stomach feels sick. Roxy's Mom, Maria ![]() |

| ![]() Maria, don't be scared. I have been there, the wait is unbearable... They probably won't be able to give you the Bile Acid test result until tomorrow, they normally have to send them to a private lab. If it turns out to me either a shunt or MVD, many people will be able to help give you info. I have had a Yorkie with PSS in the past and now have a 10 month old Yorkie with Microvascular displasia (MVD). I have collected a lot of info on it... Please write to me with any questions, I will do my best to help you. Please keep us posted with the results! Hugs, Sylvie |

| ![]() i know, the wait is the hardest. we also had to wait a day to get max's bile acid tests back. but honestly, as weird as this may sound, i was relieved to finally find out it was a liver shunt. i knew liver shunts were very serious, but at least we knew what was wrong so we could go ahead and get it fixed. keep us updated!!

| ![]() Thanks Silvie and Brooke, I will take you up on your offer of help when I find out what's going on. I just called and they are keeping her until 5:30 to observe her. No seizures the whole time she has been there. They said they are sending her home with seizure medicine. (I only spoke to the receptionist, so I don't know what kind of meds. they gave her. Funny thing is I feel the same way about the liver shunt. At least you know what it is. If they tell me they can't figure it out, I'm not going to be a happy camper. That would mean I have to worry forever about these seizures. AHHHHH!!!!!! I think I am actually going to try to clean up my house. Enough sitting around depressed and waiting. At least I know what time to pick her up now. I'll post after I pick up my little Roxy Girl. Roxy's Mom, Maria |

| ![]() I'm sorry your baby is sick. I hope that can figure out what is causing the seizures and get them treated. Hope Roxy starts feeling better soon. |
