| She ate some Chocolate! Scion, my 8 pound Yorkie ate some chocolate last night so I induced vomiting with 5ml of Fresh peroxide. Problem is 6pm the day after she is still vomiting at times. She has eaten since then but seems to vomit due to the food. Should I be concerned or is her stomach still unsettled? Please offer any Suggestions or thoughts. thanks |

Donating YT 4000 Club Member | I would give him some pedialyte and if he does not vomit that, then give him some boiled white rice with a little piece of chicken breast boiled in plain water, until his tummy settles.. if he still vomiting tomorrow I would call the vet and have him check. |

| What type and how much chocolate did she eat? She could still be experiencing chocolate toxicity. Chocolate and Dog Poisoning |

| was it dark chocolate or milk chocolate? Dark chocolate is more toxic than milk chocolate. |

| How much chocolate was it? I personally wouldn't have induced vomiting. Chester ate half of one of those big dark chocolate Hershey bars last year. He climbed up on my counter and had a snack I guess. I called the vet and they said that was not enough to do any harm. I just watched him like a hawk, and nothing ever happened to him. No vomiting or pooing or acting sick or anything.

| It was a special dark chocolate candy bar she may have eaten just a little. I am starting to think that I should have not induced the vomiting as already posted. She still eliminates even though she is vomiting. I guess I will give it one more day. I just hope the peroxide did not harm her. |

| The peroxide wouldn't still be making her vomit 24 hours later. I'd be concerned that she may still be suffering from chocolate poisoning. If you read the link I posted earlier, treatment is two fold. Peroxide to induce vomiting, but also charcoal to absorb what wasn't vomited up. Can you call the poison control hotline or the emergency vet and see what they recommend? |

| how much does she weigh? I would have not induced vomitting either. Who instructed you to induce vomitting the ER or the vet? I do not think the peroxide would still be causing the vomitting - is she having any other symptoms? Is she eating? I would take her to the vet to have her checked out just to make sure they can do a blood work up and see if there is any toxicity in her body. It might be the safest thing to do and never hurts to be overly cautious especially if you have a tiny one. |
