off to the vet He really needs to be seen like everyone else said. Yorkies and dehydrate really quick at that age. Was he given a shot for kennel cough? Did he come from a kennel or a home breeder? I would tell your husband you love him but, like the other person said take your half with you and your husbands half will just have to go along for the ride. Good luck oh I would keep him on a blane diet. Cottage cheese, boiled eggs I dont know if you have Pedi lite there but that is really great to re hydrate your puppy. Again will keep him in my prayers tonight |

no park I would not take him back to the pet park anymore till he is completly well. How he was dressed may not have been so much of an issue as the park. Not all furbaby parent do what they should have give their animals the shots they need. He could have gotten kennel cough there. He is still young for a kennel cough shot. I only give it to my puppies that will be near a dog show since I show. Good luck again I am still praying it is thanksgiving there now? |
If that were my pup, he would have been at a vet today!! You need to get to a vet...forget all of the guessing and take him ASAP!! |
Yes it's Thanksgiving weekend here :) And Derby has had this cold for a few days now, and the blood is new today.! Can't do anything until the holiday, and tomorrow everything is closed! Given that today is Sunday, he couldn't have gone today either..... I didn't realise there were so many possible issues with this bloody stool!! I'm so scared for baby. I keep bugging my husband!! |
when we took him our vet gave him the combo parainlfuenza/bordetella vaccine- that's the k-9 shot. I looked it up.I never put up on my list, because I didn't realise it was a vaccine. |
Bordatella and parainfluenza are different. A parainfluenza vaccine wouldn't really cause these cold symptoms. While it isn't something that any owner wants to do because of $$$, there are ER vets in most areas of the US in Canada or an emergency number that you can call so your vet will come in and start treatment. Because very seriously, it is impossible to predict what might happen. If he continues to have bloody stool or a lot of diarrhea after you go to bed, by morning it may be too late. It just isn't a good situation. It is important to always have an emergency vet's number handy so that you can at least call to see if they think the problem is urgent or if it can wait. |
I would take him to an emergency vet. Since he is a puppy, he may have parvo. Bloody diarreah is a symptom of it, and it can be very quick acting. |

derby Please let us know how he is. I know how it is to have a hard headed husband I live with one. But the longer you wait could end up costing you the puppy plus larger vet bills the longer it goes untreated the worse things could get. |
