I'm not sure why. The vet prescribed it. But I did call the vet today and he said that it could be her food and that I should make an appointment to discuss which food would suit her best. What is pancreatitis? How was your yorkie before he/she had the surgery?

Thank you so much for letting me know. Turns out that I misread the prescription food. I went to Petsmart to get the L/D but they don't sell that! I need to wait until tomorrow to buy it. So I/D isn't good for possible liver shunts? Please do explain more for you have experience with all of this.

Please don't let the vet talk you into these ones. Some will try. L/D canned or Royal Canin Hepatic LS 14 kibble is best for liver problems.

Sasha looks great today. I just kept her in her cage and let her sleep. I gave her some more lactulose last night and she pooped a good amount this morning. After a couple of phone calls, my mom and I got the VCA animal clinic to send a prescription for L/D hills diet to a vet clinic near my house. Petsmart mixed up the food types and don't even sale L/D!! Sasha is doing very well and I would like to thank you al for your advice and support.

| Has Sasha started eating the L/D? How does she like it? Many dogs do not like it so you may need to bake it or microwave small portions of it at a time to entice her to eat it.

She has been doing well on the L/D. But, her poop looks weird. Its soggy and she's pooping a lot. I haven't been giving her lactulose because of this. Is this normal? Should I continue to not give lactulose?

is it dr broome as he does them in tustin and los angeles - he works out of two facilities -- is it from the link i sent below for his facility ? He is who i was referred to as well -- I was only aware that he is the only one in california that can do these so not sure who else you would have been referred to for 500 but i would only trust him as he is suppose to be the best so sounds like the price has not changed in 2 years which is good
