| My yorkie has vomited three times in 14 hours Please help. I took my yorkie for his late night walk and I'm pretty sure he didn't eat anything he wasn't supposed to (it was slightly dark). He chewed his bully stick before bed, then at 4:30 am he woke up and vomited bile. I assumed he may have been hungry since it was bile so I made him some chicken and rice. He ate it at 5 am and went to sleep. I came home from work and noticed he vomited twice in his crate. He seems totally normal and full of energy. Took him for his evening walk. He pottied and pooped (looked normal). So I decided to give him dinner (more chicken, rice, carrots) and he vomited again.??? My family visited a week ago and my little sisters were giving him a lot of treats. Could this pancreatitis?? Or possibly a toxin from outside??? I will take him to the vet tomorrow morning. But does anyone have any suggestions for the next 14 hours???? He really wants to eat, but I think I am going to take away his food. |

| thanks he is a year and a half and my family only gave him doggie treats. It takes him about a month put even put a dent in one of those bully sticks. he pretty much only chews on them, doesn't eat them. the only other thing I can think of is that I had some older treats in the pantry that were sweet potato and venison and I gave him one earlier in the night. Maybe the treat was "bad?" It seems like he would have worked that out of his system by now. He is able to hold down water just not food... It's very strange. thanks for responding. |

Give water sparingly. Water will make your dog feel very thristy. But drinking lot of water will only make the stomach more upset. Instead offer tiny amounts of water. Offer ice. Vomiting can cause rapid dehydration, so it's important to try to keep some liquid down your pet. Try offering some ice cube for her to lick.

| It doesn't sound like pancreatitis. Probably just a stomach upset. As long as the vomiting has stopped and he can hold down food now, it should be okay. Otherwise, vet time. When they are vomiting and you want to get liquid in them, try Pedialyte. It replaces electrolyes and helps with dehydration.

| Thank you everyone!!!!! thanks to everyone who replied and gave me advice. Kuma is back to normal and doing very well! The Pepcid AC was a real lifesaver. Worked like a charm! He's staying on his chicken, rice and carrot diet for a few more days but he's no longer vomiting! |

| it looks like it was a stomach upset from the treats most likely; great to hear that he's doing well.

| Where did you hear of Pepcid AC? How much did you give him? Rambo is 5 mos. and weighs 4.10. My Rambo is in the same situation. He's just a puppy and I started feeding him raw chicken. I need to read up on raw more.
