| bug bite? not sure what type my dog has a bite with a raise red bump on her left thigh (back leg); i took her to the vet yesterday and they saw her really quick; they said it's not tick bite but some kind of bug or insect bite; so they told me to give her benadryl; i dont think it hurts because when i press down she doesnt seem to be in pain; it's not itching because i dont see her biting or itching it ; if it was mosquito bite she will itch it; i am concerned because it's red and it's raised like there is something under the surface. does anyone have any insight? thanks

Phantom Queen Morrigan Donating Member | yeah its common for dogs to get these if they lay in the grass outside. its like a gnat bite. i've seen them on many dogs. Morgan even got one a few months ago. they go away in a few days and the dog isn't bothered by them. you don't have to give the benadryl unless your dog seems bothered by it.

Phantom Queen Morrigan Donating Member | does it look like the pictures on teh other thread you posted on about the bites? those aren't tick bites. they're just some sort of common bug bite.
