| help! throwing up, runny BM, for 2 days I am waiting at the vet right now but I'm worried they won't know what it is. Little Jessie threw up for the first time on Monday night. Then had a rough night with dry heaves. In the morning she seemed better but would not eat. Then Tuesday she was active, alert but Tuesday night she threw up all night and began to have runny BMs. She is 5 and never ever has done this before. She has an abdominal hernia...could this be causing this? It was fixed once and returned. Help! I am so scared!!! |

| hernia My vet was not at all concerned about her hernia..it's at the umbillical cord site and I was going to get it fixed at her next teeth cleaning. She just never gets sick and has never been sensitive about food. It's so sudden and odd! |

| well my dh has an umbilical hernia and had surgery and depending on how bad it is it can perforate causing vomitting as the waste gets into the body if there is a tear in the hernia so I am still concerned it could be that due to my dh having one and what doctor told him. What happened 24 hrs prior to incident- any change in treats, diet, outside with other dogs, and torn up toys? |

| vet responds: She has not had any change in food or treats or toys...she might have eaten a pea off the floor. She did see two dogs on the street two days before. The vet is running all tests and says it is not the hernia because her abdomen is not sore and is fine. It could be pancreatitis, flu or food sensitivity? The vet gave me special food for her to give her stomach a rest. It is killing me waiting to know what it is! They could not take a stool sample because she had none (she hasn't been keeping food down). Could it be worms? |

| update She had some blood in her anus. The vet gave her a Peptic shot so she will stop vomitting. She is very upbeat and alert. I'm just scared waiting for the blood tests. The vet has given me antiviral medications. I just don't want her to get more serious while I wait for test results. It's killing me! |

| what type of food were you feeding her; it seems like many yorkies are having the same thing. my dog was in the hospital for the past 2 days; she wasn't eating and was throwing up blood; they didnt know what it was but they suspect gastritis. i hope your baby feels better soon and let us know the diagnosis.

| Gosh how scary . I am so sorry your little one is ill. My Suzi has been unwell too .However not as sick as your babies. I have been dealing just with runny stools for the last couple of days. However, Suzi has had both before in the past. Making her very sick . I hope both of the poster Yorkies start feeling better , and the tests will reveal what is causing the sickness. I will be praying. CAthy
