and yes the staph is different in dogs than humans BUT my vet said they are seeing mrsa staph in dogs now and probably because they over prescribe antibiotics so the dogs become immune to them

The shampoo I use is from Verbac Called Vet Solutions Universal Medicated Shampoo for Dogs and Cats. Deep Cleansing Action, Removes Scales & Crusts, Antibacterial, Antifungal, Deodorizing, Gentle for Routine Use. I get it through revivalanimal.com

dd reacts to all vet shampoos - malaseb, kethachlor, vet solutions oatmeal and aloe - she goes nuts gets red bumps and then itches til she bleeds it is horrible - something with the chemicals so i do all natural now - here are some pics of our journey

This is a shampoo that my vet in Texas prescribed to use just prior to my girls whelping a litter. I showed it to this vet and said it was mild enough not to cause any reactions. Have you used Betidine (sp).

no but jean dodds who we use told me to try phisoderm - just so afraid as everything and we have tried alot lol - i think over 100 shampoos sadly - causes her to break out but the dr bronners mild unscented baby shampoo with all organic oils and blue hypoallergenic shampoo - all others she breaks out in red bumps all over

thanks been using colloidal silver and raw coconut oil as coconut is a natural antibacterial and antifungal but getting impatient so the baths every 3 days sounds like a winner as been doing once a week and may not be enough

Ah! The other thing I do (a natural antibacterial and antifungal) is a rinse with 1 part vinegar and 10 parts of water.

Lexi is 9 months old....she did really good at the vets today. Such a trooper he gave her a shot and she didn't even whimper. Gave her antibiotics and some shampoo to was her in "Benzoyl-Plus" moisturizing benzoyl peroxide shampoo. Said she should be all cleared up in a week or so. She slept most of the afternoon but now she's running around being Lexi

yep the skin gets scratched and allows bacteria to get in thus causing staph - this is why it is important to bath an allergy dog once a week to keep bacteria down on the skin

My Miley has this problem between allergies and the ants biting her, it got bad. I took care of the ants, not fire ant I'm in IL right now.
lillymae , told me to use the Chamomile tea, I did what she said and it work in 3 days she is 70% better, I couldn't believed it she is doing so good , pls read that thread. I first gave her a bath with her shampoo, than I gave her the tea as a rinse and left it on her. Her hair is shinny and it smells good. Next day I gave a rinse again and the third day I put the tea bags on her bottom side for 10 minutes and than gave her the rinse only on her bottom side that's where she needs it. I warm the water a little, she didn't care for it cold or room temp. Good Luck I feel your pain.

I'm so sorry your dd has it really bad, My Miley is not as bad , but bad enough, Have u try the chamomile tea, I couldn't believed it work so fast , she looks so much better she was itching like crazy and now she is more relax, it took care of at least 70 % of it. I'm so happy and grateful to lillymae. wishing u and dd the best .

thanks so much what kind of chamomille did you buy just any or a certain brand

Y can buy any Chamomile tea natural flavor , just make sure it ony Chamomile nothing else in there. I wrote in the thread : Blister or Pimple like bumps all over, every step I took with the rinse and the tea bags.
