if you are going to do a follow up anyway i strongly recommend going to an opthamologist as they are much more educated in eyes than a regular vet and i would not mess with eyes -jmho - a little more expensive but well worth it i found- prepare for the worst and hope for best so if you see opthamologist you establish a relationship and if it gets worse you will have to go to them anyway. They are also up to date more so than a regular vet on medications

Just an update - Marly's eyes look MUCH better today. No goopie stuff, or discharge, and he is able to keep them wide open like normal.

This sounds like what I've been going thru with one of my 10 week old puppies. I took him to the vet and she says he has an eye infection. Can't say what caused it. I suspect it was caused by wrestling with his litter mates. So Marley actually felt much better in just 2 days? Any advice for me? I feel so bad for my little guy! Although we only have it in one eye. She said the other eye is fine. Don't know if this is exactly the same thing or not but we are on Atropine and an antibiotic eye ointment as well and also some oral antibiotics.
