| I need help first yorkie!! Hello everyone I'm new to having a yorkie and need some help. My baby is 9 months old and I'm trying to get him back to good health. His previous owners kept a diaper on him and I've taken him off since he's house broke but he has rashes from the diaper and he keeps chewing and licking himself raw on his privates. It's obsessive and he doesn't sleep. I'm worked aborig him and the vet is no help. Can anyone help me? |

| You might be able to ask your vet for an Elizabethan collar while he sleeps until the rashes heal. It isn't the most comfortable for them but it will keep him from licking. Quote:

| I agree with the E-Collar idea... it may be a great start !!! Try it! You can get one at a pet store too. It is that "thing" that looks like a lampshade in their head... looks funny but it is very effective !!! Welcome... keep posting and you will keep getting great advise !

| I agree with the others. A e-collar needs to help your little man from licking himself so he can heal . He must be in a lot of pain. Also, I would take him in to a different vet for a second opinion. Surely, their has to be some kinf medication or treatment that can be applied to the rash to treat him . Poor guy .He must be so uncomfortable.

| you can also try a little onsie like you would put on a baby. i have seen people use these to cover there babies when they have surgery done on their babies to cover them up and they don't have to have a that awful collar on thier necks. Just a suggestion hon. I sure hope that he heals up. But I would see if you could find a different vet also. Some one that cares about yoru baby like you do.
