YT Addict | ![]() I came to realize with yorkies there tummies seem to be more sensitive then other breeds. its good to have acidophilus in the house at all times and give them that when they seem to have a tummy ache. you can sprinkle it on food or put it in their water or give it to them in a syringe. its really good for them and you can see they feel better after 20 min. |

| ![]() If he has just been sick (and it looked normal -- no blood or a lot of mucous)one time, I would not do anything, just give some extra loving. They do spit up. They have a habit of putting everything in their mouths and sometimes that makes them spit up a little. If it is just foamy stuff, probably a gag reflex. If it is all food, could be eating/drinking too fast. If it is bile/blood/mucous, it might, and I stress might, be something to worry over. But not just one time incident. I would definately NOT feed anything different after one spit up. You don't want to feed something for the first time that WILL make him sick and then confuse the issue. I would feed nothing for a little bit. Just have water available. Then offer regular food at their desire. Definately no hamburger. With a small puppy, you should always have Nutrical on hand. In lieu of that, some Karo syrup. If they do get sick, they can go hypogylcemic very fast. The Nutri-cal is a high calorie, high sugar gel that will bring their blood sugar up quickly. Can bring them from limp to perky in less than an hour. Coating the tongue with Pepto Bismal is good. But even that I would wait to see if the puppy spits up more than once. You never relaly described what he was spitting up. That can make a difference with advice.
