Donating YT 11K Club Member | ![]() I'm so sorry. It sounds Kinda like London's. She hides her head when i try to give her food but i force the pedialyte into her with a syringe every 3 hrs, i check her gums every couple minutes and the pedialyte is fruit flavored so i think the sugar helps with that. I also bought organic chicken broth, low sodium and she licked some of that, so maybe try feeding her some of that and if she doesnt take it, do it with a syringe. I feel so terrible. It is really hard not knowing. I guess the most important thing right now while trying to figure it out is keep her hydrated and sugar levels up. London also has not pooped but maybe it's cause they won't eat ![]() ![]()

| ![]() I took Trixie, on the advice of my vet, to the hospital and finally found out what is wrong...She had pancreatitis... Poor baby I just left her there and she has to stay there for a couple of days. She will get rehydrated and get antibiotics through an iv. I can't stand it I miss her. Coco and Pebbles are looking all over for her. I want her home. She has eatten a total of 1 jar of baby food in 48 hrs. I was only able to get her to drink a few laps of pedialite. I'm so glad we found out what was wrong with her. The doctor said she has to eat a special low fat diet when she gets home. That's fine I will do anything to get her better. I don't want to see her like this any more. She is only 9mo old. She is supposed to be running crazy and playing. Does anyone know what kind of food she should eat? I will ask the vet at the hospital but I was just wondering if I have to buy it from the vet or do they sell it in the store. Right they only eat holistic kibble. I don't know where she may have gotten this. They do not eat table food at all. Maybe her treats...I don't know.

Donating YT 1000 Club Member | ![]() Poor thing I hope you find a food solution soon the vet may give you prescription food. My last dog liked the prescription food at room temp. So when I opened a can and put the rest in the fridge I had to warm it a bit in the microwave before feeding it to her again. She hated it cold! Just touch it with your finger to be sure it's not to hot before feeding her if she's the same as my dog was about cold canned food.

Pancreatitis mainly affects older dogs, but puppies can get it after one high fat treat is given. I've read threads about people going visiting and a relative gave the puppy a human food treat, and the puppy got an attack of pancreatitis. You want to make sure no one is giving your dog any human processed foods. Lunchmeat, hot dogs, and that sort of thing are too high in fat. Also make sure that your dog has no access to the trashcan. What kind of treats were you giving her? There are some brands that are high in fat, and probably wouldn't hurt a larger breed, but it's too much fat for a yorkie. What's the fat content of your kibble? Best of luck, I didn't realize they had a fever with pancreatitis, that really threw me off.

| ![]() Thank you so much for your advice. The health extension is low in fat. I'm trying to figure out what she ate. We didn't go anywhere and no one was here. My babies don't get table scraps. Hmmm.... Aparently she got the fever from the infection in her pancreas. I just called the hospital and she has been sleeping most of the day and now she is awake and alert. I miss her terribly. Just the thought of her in a cage all alone thinking I abandoned her. I will call them in the morning and we will go visit. Hopefully she will be home on Sunday. She is also in a great hospital with round the clock live people there. They have been so great.
