| lethargic with rash So we left town for a day and unexpectedly had to stay the night away from home. We put Pepper in the kitchen with nothing but her bed, toys, food and water. We had a friend stop by the house to check on her and be sure that she had plenty of food/water. Came back tonight and she is very tired and has an unsteady gait. We thought that maybe the friend didn't add more water and she's dehydrated but then saw a rash. I noticed that she had peed a litter on herself (the only other time she's done this was after being put under with the anesthetic wearing off) and while washing her, noticed that she has a few little red blotches around her vulva and she whined a little when trying to jump onto the couch. Does this sound like the symptoms to anything? What should I be watching for to know that I need to take her to the emergency vet? Thanks in advance.. and p.s. She was spayed two months ago. |

| I have no clue ~ It probably wouldn't hurt to call a vet and just ask them what they think it may be and if it seems serious enough to come in tonight or wait until the A.M.

If she does not perk up in a couple of hours, I would get the emergency vet on the line.

| Thanks for the posts; we finally convinced her to eat a little food and then she just ate for a while. It appears that she has been drinking water so I think low blood sugar was the culprit. She has never been left alone overnight before and generally doesnt eat while we are gone. She is still a little unsteady but the rash is gone! Which is good right? Again thanks for the tips. I'm going to give her some nutrical this afternoon to help her recouperate. Poor girl! |
