A little less than an hour ago Tatum started panting with her tongue hanging out, yet she is shaking like she's cold. Also she seems like she is restless....she is peeing like normal and ate all her food. I gave her Nutri-Cal and she took it with no problem. Her gums look pink and other than the restlessness, panting and shaking she is acting fine...and by that I mean she isn't crying out in pain or anything. PLEASE....does anyone know what could be causing this??? Has anyones babies ever done this before? Hubby and I are both freaking out! :cry: Any response is greatly appreciated!

P.S. - She layed down on the floor and was sleeping and after she took a breath she would kind of shake...like kick her legs a little bit, I don't know how to explain it. Someone please help! :cry:

Do you have a 24hr vet you could call and explain all this to them? I don't know ~ bumping..!

I would probably get a hold of the Emergency vet. There are probably a lot of reasons this could be happening but I would not take a chance. Panting and shaking is often a sign they are in pain. Could she have been stung or bit by a snake or something?

Have you taken her temp?

I'd call the ER vet.

Any chance she could have gotten into something toxic?

Brooke, don't forget to mention when u call the Vet about Tate grinding her teeth suddenly. I posted on yr other thread that I read it could be caused by pain, maybe with the ears or jaw pain. Sending well wishes for little Tate! Hope it's nothing serious.

I would take her in to the Emergancy vet. You mentioned her licking her legs. Could she have maybe been stung by something? I don't think I would wait until morning because it could be an allergic reaction to something. Hope she gets okay. I know how scary it is.

I think of pain when I read your post also.. so again my advice is to call a vet.. something is not right.. and the shaking.. all our babies are so different.. kacee is either cold or hungry if she shakes..

I am hoping she is on her way to the vet or talking on the phone to one... I hate when things like this happen..not knowing exactly what is going on with our babies.... keeping fingers crossed!

Did you ever call the ER vet? How is she doing?

Just wanted to check in before I got off here to see if any change in Ms. Tatum. I did look up your Teeth Grinding thread and watched your video. Never heard anything like that before. Wish so much I knew something to help. But I will keep you all in my prayers and check again tomorrow.

Am only just seeing this thread.....Poor baby! maybe she's had an allergic reaction to a bite or sting? I hope all goes well at the vets and that it it nothing serious.

Did I miss something (it is late & my eyes are all blurry) but, I didn't see her mention "teeth grinding" in her OP or am I blind?

I don't know how things are going now, but my little one has had on 2 occasions panic/anxiety attacks where she suddenly began panting and shaking and otherwise is fine- no pain, fever or chill, eats and drinks fine.

She is adopted/rescue and so I don't know her history, but the thing that set her off the first and worst time was my using a staple gun to upholster a ramp that my hubby created to let her get on and off the bed. She is always around us and most noises don't seem to bother her, but when I started using that she just disappeared and then didn't come when we called. We found her upstairs on the bed shaking and panting and unable to calm down. We never even have that staple gun out where she could even see it now and it breaks my heart when I even think of why she is so terrified of it now. Anyhow- I don't know if there is something that could have been going on that would have made your little one anxious and I think it is impt to check out with a vet to see how to handle it either way- I just wanted to share in case that might be what was going on with your little one. We now have some anti-anxiety medicine for Bella, but hope we won't have to use it.

btw- the way we figured out it was anxiety was that I took her outside to see how she would do and if she needed to potty and she calmed down outside but didn't want to come into the house (She always leaps back into the house) and then resumed panting and shaking when she saw the staple gun still in the living room. So my hubby took her on a long walk while I finished the project and put everything away.

Just seeing this now :(. Hoping for an update today. Could fire ants have gotten her again? A diff. insect bite?

Hoping Tatum is ok. Could it have been small seizures from a toxic substance or a reaction to any medicines she is on?
