Brooke, I am so sorry your poor little Tatum is going through all this. :big_hug: |
Poor little Tatum, can she be eating something that is giving her gas. It does kind of sound like gas and abdomial cramps. Hope you get it figured out. Keeping Tatum in our prayers. |
Sending lots of hugs to you and Tater tot. Also to hubby and Steddy as this is trying on everyone I am sure. I hope she recovers well and is back to her cute little self soon. |
Brook, I am soo very sorry to hear about Tatum, she is cute as a bug, Im so sorry you have to go thru all of this. Tatum is in my prayers I hope things get better!! |
Brooke, I'm so sorry for everything your little Tatum is going through! You are good parents and love her {{{{}}}}}! If you didn't care, you wouldn't be so emotional about all of it. I had AprilLove in for a toofer cleaning about 2 months ago, and they found a baby tooth!!!! (She's 3 1/2) I was livid, mostly because I was like, why didn't they see the tooth when she was spayed at 7 months and had 11 puppers pulled then??!!! I felt so bad that I hadn't noticed it, but it was apparently being hidden by the adult tooth. We just wanted to send out get better fast wishes for Tatum and hope the infection clears quickly and she can get back to feeling better! Big huggles to all of you from Me and the furbutts  |
Awwww, your poor baby! She's been through so much:( You are such good, loving parents to her and Steddy:love: Please don't feel bad about venting, it must be very very difficult to watch her suffer through all of these things, it makes you feel helpless, I'm sure. Tater Tot is actually one lucky little girl, she could have ended up with parents that aren't as caring and committed to her health as you and your dear husband so obviously are. Of course it'll get you down a little, but you are doing everything right! I hope that baby girl is feeling back to her spunky self in short order. She's such a dollbaby, and loved by so many here:D! |

Hugs to you Brooke! So sorry you're going through all these things w/little Tatum...& that Tatum has to endure all this. We're all here to support you & wish Tatum well. I know this is just a saying, but God only gives you what you (in this case also cutie Tatum) can handle. Tatum is a tough little cookie. We are all by your side. |
I am praying little Tatum gets better soon. I know when Cali gets her stomach upset she pants and shivers so maybe her tummy is cramping. The Clavamox may upset her tummy a little too. I know how you feel, Cali has made my vet and specialists rich. My vet said one day do you think you can stay away for a month! So don't feel bad for venting, it is terrible to see them sick and not know how to make it better and financially it is overwhelming. Hugs |
Update Sigh. I am just so beside myself. Yesterday Tatum was very, very quiet and she pretty much just layed down all day, and when she did get up, she would just stand there and stare and not do anything. She didn't get excited at dinner time (although she DID eat all of her food) and she didn't even get excited when I was getting ready to put her up on the bed last night to go night night....and she always gets excited about that. Also, as some of you may have read in my reply above, she had gas (yesterday), which she NEVER has...so that is confusing me as well. :( Today she is MUCH more perky, almost back to her normal self....however, she started the panting and shaking again  It is so weird because she shakes like a leaf like she is FREEZING cold....yet she pants with her tongue hanging out like she is totally hot. It is just the weirdest, most odd thing I have ever seen. I do not understand what is causing all of this. The vet did a full blood panel on her and everything came back absolutely normal. He even did a heartworm test (I wanted him to, just for piece of mind) - again, we got the all clear - negative on the heartworm test. I am just so freakin' confused and it is driving me CRAZY. I mean I literally do not know what is causing this. Other than the panting and shaking she acts completely normal. She eats, pees and poops normal. Although it does seem to me that she is drinking more water than usual. Sigh. I just wish I had an answer! Can anyone think of ANYTHING at all that could be causing this??? I mean, ANYTHING?? Maybe it is just the infection that she has in her chest, but then again yesterday she wasn't panting or shaking AT ALL. Today is the first day that it started back up again. Nothing out of the ordinary happened today that didn't happen yesterday either. So I know that it isn't something that is "going on" or any loud noises, etc. that might be scaring her. I just DO NOT get it! :( We have alot of HUGE banana trees in the backyard and she has been chewing (and possibly even eating, I'm sure) the little buds that drop on the ground when the bananas are ready on the tree. However, I looked online (quite a while back actually) and it says that nothing on the banana tree is poisonous. The vet said that she couldn't haven't eaten anything poisonous anyway because all her blood tests came back normal. I started both of the babies on Organic Extra Virgin Coconut Oil exactly 16 days ago (I just pour 1/2 a tsp on their food once daily, in the mornings) - but this is 100% all natural so I can't see this hurting her. I am just trying to think of every little thing...but I am drawing a total blank on this one. If you guys have ANY suggestions or thoughts at all, please let me know! Thanks so much...love you guys  P.S. - Someone did mention about her anal glads possibly needing to be expressed. She has never had this done before as I heard that you are not supposed to START doing it unless it NEEDS to be done, because once you start, they will always need them emptied. I wonder if this could be the cause of everything??? Any thoughts??? |
I am so sorry to hear Tatum is still not well. Did you stop the coconut oil? I would just to make sure it isn't related to that. |
Corn Syrup! That happened to my vinny the other day. However it was right after he threw up for no reason (we are guessing food poising) anyway... he was going into a coma from having such low blood sugar. I took him too the vet ASAP and the put some fluids into him.. and we have been giving him Corn Syrup ever since. We usually give him maple syrup once a week. But try giving your pup Corn syrup through a syringe. It's thicker so it's better for "emergancy" situations. |
Anals The thing about anals is they either have the problem or they don't. Most small dogs have the problem. If you have not had that checked yet, Please Please do it. It's the cheapest thing you could do at this point and I would just about bet my next breath that's what it is. And if it is then she is suffering for no real good reason. |
I'm so sorry Brooke. I hope you find out what it is. London is sick too, she is not eating and basically upset tummy, something bad is going on in there. It's so hard with these guys...i am beside myself too...i am worried all the time now that something bad will happen. :( All we can do is pray |
Oh Brooke, so sorry to read all about little Tate. I haven't been on much lately. I hope that you find out what it is real soon. I agree, get her glands checked because it is the cheaper of the options at this point. I've been grooming Hot Rod myself for the past few months and about 3 weeks ago, took him to the vet cause he was acting a bit strange and sitting down on our walks again--which started the whole lp thing--so I got real worried. Turned out that his glands were very, very full! Whew! The groomers had been expressing them in the past. He's all better now so I would say at least let the vet check, it is the easiest of the possible solutions at this point. Good luck and BIG hugs to you and Tatum. :) |
