YT Addict | Help!!! Ok! So last week I took my Bryan to Daycare for the entire week, well everyday he came home he was totally exhausted and just wanted to sleep after a little dinner...So yesterday I took him to the groomer to get a bath and a haircut, nails cut, teeth cleaned etc. Well 15 minutes after i left and was shopping around the corner in the Gap i get a phone call from the groomer telling me that she did not want to give him a bath because he had a scratch on his hip and she thinks it my get infected from the shampoo..I said i'll be right there...when i got there he had a 3" scratch on his hip and it was red but looked as thought it was beginning to heal....she said she would still cut his hair but didn't feels comfortable washing him....in the pet store they also have a vet on staff....so I took him to the vet who agreeded with the groomer and suggested i put some neosporin on it and wait a week b/4 shampooing him....well we went home and this is when things got crazy.....He started throwing up every 5 minutes....He would first start snorting like he has a cold and his nose was stuffed then it would turn into a gag with led to him throwing up, but it is mostly like a white foam....so i cooked him some white rice and boiled chicken breast which he ate with no problem and i ran out to the store and got him some pedialite which he also drank in spirts....but you can tell that he really not felling well.....last night he slept most of the night but he's still throwing up today.. about 3 times so far....I even took some of the frozen pumpkin balls out of the freezer and cut then up which he also ate....but i'm worried about leaving him alone tomorrow when I go to work...what should i do? He's been laying around all day today but will still just up a raise hell if he hears someone in the hallway or sees a puppy on TV......Any suggestions because i at a lost

| Oh wow...is the vet you spoke to about this still on call? Could you give him or your regular vet a call?

| Most places are closed on Sunday. Hmmm...did you get a message when you called or did it just keep ringing? Sometimes they have an after-hours number at the end of the message. I am really torn. I'm not a vet, so I would like to hear what the others have to say. I honestly don't know if this warrants a trip to the ER vet. Is there a fever? Are his gums pink? I am so sorry you two are going through this. In the meantime, I would start looking for an ER vet in your area just in case you need it later.

| I am so sorry Little Bryan is sick I'd be concerned that the cut is infected, does he have a fever? Has he thrown up anymore? He really needs to be seen b y the vet. Are you certain this was not a dog bite?

| I didn't think about that. Hmmm...sounds like something you need to ask the daycare.

| If you pup is sort of coughing and then gagging up white foam, he could have kennel cough. Sometimes it goes through the daycare and lots of the dogs get it. I would take him to the vet just to be safe. Did he have a bordetella vaccine before going to daycare?

YT Addict | well he doesn't have a fever....his gums are pink and he's thrown up about 3 times today.....I did call the daycare yesterday and they said he had not been in a fight because they would have noted it and called me right away....it looks like a scratch or like he may have rubbed up against something that scratched him....it's about 3-4 inches long....I just gave him some more white rice and chicken....on thing he hasn't lost his appetite at all, but he would not come in the kitchen to eat i had to bring the bowls to him

| Oh my, I'm surprised they let him into day care without all his vaccinations. Yup tomorrow, best to bring him to the vet. Kennel cough is nasty. If that's what it is. Either way he definitely needs his Bordetella (kennel cough) vaccine. Good luck, hope he's better soon. Carol and Jemma |

YT Addict | ooooh! then they probably didn't give it to him. I'm pissed right now he was just at the vet on June 5th for the last of his vaccines you think they would mention seeing that Kennel is so contagious
