I would suggest a play yard or exercise pen for your puppy. Keeping him in a confined area free from all of the children's play things and offerings might be safer. I don't even let mine have the run of the house unless I am right there with them. I don't have small children, but young Yorkies can make almost anything a danger. They can pull things down on themselves, chew wires, swallow anything from paper to nuts and bolts, jump up and then down from heights that are not safe -- so many dangers! I would just keep to the rule -- under your direct supervision, or in the pen, at least while very young. Welcome to YT! Hope you will find it a great place to learn, share, and have fun!

| So glad Nacho is feeling better. I understand babies that eat everything. Bobby is 2 years old and he still will eat anything off the ground or outside. I try to puppy proof my house as much as possible. We have gates and nothing is on the ground within reach. But accidents do happen. I bet your child won't be giving Nacho popouri anymore, lesson learned and thankfully he will be ok. I remember when Bobby was a puppy he got so sick. he was vomiting and had the runs. a few trips to the vet and $800 later after xrays and numerous tests, turned out it was just an upset stomach. But it was well worth the cost of the vet...you never know. |

| I agree, I am new to this and not computer savy as some. It takes me along time just to check to see if anyone responded to my posts! Eventually I will figure it out, I'm sure I will make many mistakes along the way as well. I also don't have a computer at home. My husband and I own a company where I have computer access when I'm there, so maybe certain situations apply to Nacho's Mom as well, preventing her from posting as quickly as others. My lttle Scooter had a similar problem last week, at first the vet thought it was Hook Worm Larve. The vet further investigated, turned out he ingested a fibrous material. The vet said it looked like the stuffing out of a toy. Scooter has been known to tear them open. I throw them away at first sign of damage, but I may of missed something. My husband & I thought he may have eaten a mushrrom from the backyard, it's been raining alot here lately. Anyway we're checking the yard now more carefully and keeping a better eye on his toys etc. He was sick from both ends for 5 days! We did take him to the vet on day 2 though, and through a shot and pills, he got better, and is back to himself now. No amount of money could deter me from skipping the vet, I would hate to lose one of my kids over a dollar issue. It's hard sometimes but we knew that when we got them. Good luck with Nacho!
