| I love the name Munchie. I hope he will feel better soon and get to come home. Do you have any Munchie pictures yet. I bet he is a cutie.

| A nine-week-old puppy who isn't feeling well absolutely does need someone with him overnight. There is just too much of a possibility of hypoglycemia.

| I have mixed feelings on this bc I almost lost my Peek a Boo to pneumonia after adopting a young, rescue Yorkie recently. Maybe your vet feels quarantine may be the best option till it's under control. Pneumonia can be deadly in younger and older pups. My rescue pulled through with no treatment, Peek a Boo ended up with a visit to the ER and they gave him an extremely poor prognosis. They didn't keep him or even recommend a 24 hr vet, just told me to take him home. He did pull through, Thank God. With your pup being at the vet, he can make quicker decisions as to supportive care, and if the ABs don't work, he can make immediate changes, rather than having to wait for you to travel back and forth. I'm glad that if he is wrong, he's erring on the side of safety, and not taking any unnecessary risks with your baby. Hope he gets well soon.... PS: Many vets will schedule someone to come in early to check on cases that may need intervention if they lack a 24hr person...

If no one was going to spend the night with him, I would have insisted on taking him home with me so I could keep an eye on him. Where did you get your little Munchie? Funny that you named him that, I debated naming one of my males, Chewy -- he loves my flip flops and they all have tiny little teeth marks on them now.

| Just checking to see how your pup is doing? I hope he's doing better. Do you know what medicines and/or care he is providing to him, especially since he is staying overnight because there's no way I could let my 9 wk old pup stay overnight alone if I didn't know the vet clinics process with that. I hope the baby isn't there alone and hope he's back home with you & doing better!

| I was a confused about this too Why the vet would keep a puppy overnight for just a little sinus problem? Especially when their is nobody attending 24hr care . When Suzi was very sick, my vet told me she was going to stay overnight, and if she were to become seriously ill, they would transfer her to a 24hr ER hospital. Luckily, that did not have to happen, and she was able to come home the same eve. I hope Munchie is ok, and he is back home with you. Please update us when you can .

| I think the vet did not want to alarm Munchie's Mom. A Runny nose is a symptom that should never be ignored in young pups or older dogs. It may not be anything yet, but these things can turn so quickly, and rapid response is so necessary to save a life. Pets are vaccinated for some of the worst illnesses out there, but there's a whole slew of viruses and bacterias out there that our pets are not protected against, and can be deadly. My Peek a Boo was put on the wrong AB initially, early on in his treatment. In less than 2 days, his tongue was turning purple from lack of oxygen, and his breathing was very shallow. Thank God I caught it in time and was able to stimulate him enough to turn his tongue pink again. If I had missed that sign, he would have died in his bed. (I thought he was sleeping, but decided to check his gum color anyway). When I took his temp and it was 105.6, I knew he needed to be seen right away. If I hadn't discovered his fever, I never would have realized how close to death he was. I've been a Vet Tech for 20+ years and I feel even with all my experience, I still came way too close to losing him forever. Never, never, never ignore a runny nose. Watch them like a hawk, and if there is no improvement in 24 hours, get back to the vet not asap, but right away.
