My Lola had Dr Tobias at University of TN repair her liver shunt March 6 of this year. It was close to $1700., but she was also spayed at the time. She was 2.5 lbs and 14 months old. I flew from Houston to have Dr Tobias do her surgery because Lola was so small. I cannot say enough wonderful things about University of TN. Lola had several "hypoglycemic" episodes when she was little and my vet never BAT her because she had no other symptoms besides being a very picky eater. When it was time to have her spayed, I insisted on the BAT and her numbers were very high. She had a very easy time with the surgery - she was only in the hospital for 2 nights - 1 after the Scintigraphy to confirm and find the shunt and 1 night after the surgery. She has done super since. We retested her today and hopefully her tests will come back fine tomorrow. I wish that I had tested Lola when she was your baby's age and had found the shunt sooner.
