| What are the possible side effects of Doxycycline: If any of the following serious side effects occur, stop giving doxycycline and seek emergency veterinary medical attention: an allergic reaction (hives; difficulty breathing; or swelling of the face, lips, tongue or throat); severe headache; dizziness or blurred vision; fever; hair loss; bull's-eye lesions; vesicles (small bubble of liquid in a cell) around the mouth, ears, or groin; urinating less than normal or not at all; dark colored urine; confusion or weakness; loss of appetite; or jaundice. Continue giving doxycycline and talk to your veterinarian if any of these less serious side effects occur: mild nausea, vomiting, or diarrhea. Side effects other than those listed in this guide may also occur. Talk to your veterinarian about any side effect that is unusual or seems especially bothersome to your pet. The only thing is that he's been off of the meds for 6 days now, and during the whole time he was on it he didn't have any of the above side effects |

Great ~ You guys are doing a wonderful job As far as foods go, the brands that you can buy in the food store and walmart etc, are pretty bad. Most of them contain so much crap, like corn and corn meal which a lot of dogs are allergic too, they contain by-products and meat by-products, which are beyond disgusting (they are *part* that are deemed not fit for human consumption) = GROSS Some of the better brands are the following and they don't cost any more than the crap brands: Wellness Merrick Solid Gold Natural Balance Canidae Innova California Natural Nature's Variety ...just to name a few, but I am sure there are more ![]() Your best bet is to find a Mom/Pop type pet store, they seem to carry the better brands. You can find *some* at Petco and Petsmart, but even there you have to be selective - be a Label Reader! I also avoid anything that says Made In China (food, treats and toys)

There is a family owned pet supermarket near my house, so I may stop by there and look for some of the brands you just suggested. Thanks a bunch, I'm gonna sign off and give my baby some "TLC" (lol) i think it may help us both a bit.

Please keep us posted though, as we will be thinking good thoughts for your baby - and YOU too ![]() P.S. 25 lbs bags are just too big - they can get stale quick. Also, you CAN return it to Petsmart, tell them he doesn't like it and they will refund you. The next food bag should be on the smaller or medium size! Last edited by TLC; 05-09-2009 at 12:37 PM.

| Iam keeping my fingers crossed for you too. Emergency vets are expensive. I hope you can keep him stabilized long enough to go to a regular vet

| thanks everyone, I have another question. I'm about the go to cvs and I wanted to pick up a thermometer because he seems a LITTLE warm. What is considered a normal temperature for puppies? Is it the same as humans? |
