As far as foods go, the brands that you can buy in the food store and walmart etc, are pretty bad. Most of them contain so much crap, like corn and corn meal which a lot of dogs are allergic too, they contain by-products and meat by-products, which are beyond disgusting (they are *part* that are deemed not fit for human consumption) = GROSS

Some of the better brands are the following and they don't cost any more than the crap brands:

Wellness
Merrick
Solid Gold
Natural Balance
Canidae
Innova
California Natural
Nature's Variety

...just to name a few, but I am sure there are more

Your best bet is to find a Mom/Pop type pet store, they seem to carry the better brands. You can find *some* at Petco and Petsmart, but even there you have to be selective - be a Label Reader! I also avoid anything that says Made In China (food, treats and toys)

Yes give 1 cc of the pedialyte. And odder the chicken/rice. If he won't eat, than do 1 cc of the pedisure and just let him rest.

It def sounded like a seizure. Hopefully the blood work will give some answers When will they have the results?

Thanks so much for the support! I will definately go back to thr drawing board on the food brands. I get his from PetSmart, and I just got a 25lb bag of whatever my sis recommended. There is a family owned pet supermarket near my house, so I may stop by there and look for some of the brands you just suggested.

P.S. 25 lbs bags are just too big - they can get stale quick. Also, you CAN return it to Petsmart, tell them he doesn't like it and they will refund you. The next food bag should be on the smaller or medium size!

yeah unfortunately it seems so. If it was in-house, i'd have gotten immediate results. But they sent his samples to a lab and they should have the results by monday or tuesday the latest. It is going to be a rough weekend

Iam keeping my fingers crossed for you too. Emergency vets are expensive. I hope you can keep him stabilized long enough to go to a regular vet

thanks everyone, I have another question. I'm about the go to cvs and I wanted to pick up a thermometer because he seems a LITTLE warm. What is considered a normal temperature for puppies? Is it the same as humans?

Oh boy - I can't help there, as the thermometer has to go up the butt
I think Petsmart carries them for dogs

I don't know what a normal temp should be, but I am sure you can google it

stale too quickly, and not to mention bulky and space consuming! I am going to petsmart later today so I will bring whats left. ( which is about 85% of it)

Could the seizure may have been cause by a hypoglcemic eposoide? I hope your baby is going to be ok.

A dogs normal temp is 100.5 to 102.5
