Thank you for your posts, every bit helps. I have set up an appointment for monday morning... but should he seem to take a turn for the worse I will take him back to the ER and just have to find 1000 dollars somehow.

THanks for your help.

Great ~ You guys are doing a wonderful job

As far as foods go, the brands that you can buy in the food store and walmart etc, are pretty bad. Most of them contain so much crap, like corn and corn meal which a lot of dogs are allergic too, they contain by-products and meat by-products, which are beyond disgusting (they are *part* that are deemed not fit for human consumption) = GROSS

Some of the better brands are the following and they don't cost any more than the crap brands:

Wellness
Merrick
Solid Gold
Natural Balance
Canidae
Innova
California Natural
Nature's Variety

...just to name a few, but I am sure there are more

Your best bet is to find a Mom/Pop type pet store, they seem to carry the better brands. You can find *some* at Petco and Petsmart, but even there you have to be selective - be a Label Reader! I also avoid anything that says Made In China (food, treats and toys)
