| Leaking Butt!!!! Help!!! This may be a little graphic, but its the only way I can describe it... My Maddie has been having diarrhea for about 48 hours now. The diarrhea has subsided but I noticed she is leaking diarrhea from her anus!!! She could be just sleeping and I would suddenly smell something and there was diarrhea coming out. Its not alot but enough to stain her bed. All last night it was her butt was leaking!!! I wiped her little butt so much it looks really irriated and red (I feel so bad...) I took her to the vet today and he gave her a antibiotic shot and meds to take home. The leaking has gotten better since the meds but its still leaking a little bit right now. The vet said that the leaking is due to the diarrhea. He said its probably something that she ate. Ive experienced diarrhea with my other dogs in the past but never a leaking butt.... Has anyone ever experienced anything like this with diarrhea??? Any suggestions? Im feeding her boiled chicken with rice and her medication. |

| had that recently but our Maisey was very very poorly with black runny poos.. buy some puppy pads and lay her on those in her bed it will save you from washing her bed out heaps your vet not suggest with holding food for 24 hours then introducing the food back? make sure she drinks plenty as will dehydrate in no time if isn't did your vet give you kaogel to use at home.. a stool hardener? |

My vet did not say to withhold food 24 hours...... I think im hold her for 24 hrs. I fed her chkn and rice earlier and i think it made it worse. Maybe her tummy nedds more time to heal.... My vet gave me Endosorb. Is Kaogel better? Where I get it?

how long does it usually take for diarrhea to clear up? I feel like she is not drinking enough water. I tried to make her drink water but she wont. The vet said she wasnt dehydrated tho. Any suggestions on how to make her drink more water? Also, when she peed, her urine was clear like water. I thought that was odd because she hasnt been drinking alot of water.

| I have found if I give DaisiMae chicken with rice her stools is light brown and a lot of mucus. I switch to lamb, buffalo or hamburger (I boil all meat skim the fat off wash reboil so there isn’t any remaining fat to disgust add vegetables with organic apple cider vinegar simmer a while drain the liquid into ice cube trays) then mixed a little of the vegetable with rice, meat and it help tremendously. I don’t know if the chicken is too rich or fatty but Daisi just can’t tolerant it. I do have them on Wellness Core deboned Chicken which she is okay with I just can’t give chicken pieces to her. I also mixed vegetable ice cube to the kibbles for extra nourishment and favor.

You can fast your dog for 24 hours, keeping a close eye on him for hypoglycemia and dehydration, both of which are emergency situations. After fasting, a bland diet of chicken and rice.
