| Keep in mind IF you give her the benadryl it will make her tired, so don't think she is getting worse if you give it to her. keep a good eye on her and keep us updated. Get well soon Brandi!

| when my hairy was a puppy he developed at cold and regular medicine would not work after two weeks so I took him back and they gave him a shot and within 20 minutes after leaving the vets office he began vomiting and foaming at the mouth. He was extremely lethargic and had vomited over ten times since leaving the vet. Took him back because of the vomitting and his gums looked the color of white paper not good. I was losing him fast. I was crying and holding him all the way to the vet.... He needed IV fluids and was kept over night for observation.......... was the worst feeling in my life................ Now he is completely recovered and never lets me out of his site and is scared to death of the vets office...... Probably remembers that he almost died because of them...

| YT Graphic Artist Donating Member | I just want to thank everyone that replied here (and sent me PM's). Brandi is doing much better this morning. I did end up giving her Benadryl. I only had the 25 mg tablets in the house, but someone gave me the correct dose, and I gave it to her last night. She stopped itching finally, and was able to go to sleep. She has most of her energy back today, but she's still sore in her back quarters, which is to be expected I suppose, after all those shots. Thanks again everyone.

| YT Graphic Artist Donating Member | I hope so too! Next week, I have to take the other three babies for their shots - I will be giving them all the Benadryl before hand this time! Luckily, no on else needs the kennel cough vaccine.

| I have very small Yorkies and I never give more than one shot at a time, its the kiss of death! It only took one very bad experience and I was taught a lifetime lesson. Hope is well.

| I agree. I am lucky I guess, my vet was the one who decided to give one shot at a time and they have always told me to give them benadryl after they get their shots. She said it even just helps with the local pain as well. I have both the liquid and the pill (always childrens). Im sure you can look up the doses online if needed. At home I have a care sheet for after shots, it lists the dose for lb. I will post it if i remember to grab it when i get home! Good Luck!!!
