| They diagnosed it as Insulinomia They said my baby has insulinoma and that he wont be with us for much longer. The vet believes it is a pancreatic tumor that may be metastais (sp) and has moved somewhere else and will slowly kill him. If we do the surgery, he will live only maybe a year, if we dont itll be a few days with treatment. If we do the surgery and they find it is metastis, they put him down then. What am I going to do? I cant live without my baby. He is everything in this world to me. I cant do this......

| Honey I am so sorry. How devastating! Only you can make the decision for your baby. My heart aches for you. You need time to think. If he's not in pain then let God handle it. I am sure all the testing that was done was adaquate to come up with this conclusion. Love him as much as you can. I will say a prayer for both of you. I am so sorry for your pain. |

| Oh, I am so sorry! My heart just aches for you. I think Archie has a good suggestion, if he's not in pain take some time to think it through. It is the absolute worse decision we have to make for our babies. I know you will make the right decision for your baby.

| Thanks to all. I have made the decision to take him home and try to treat it. In the case that it isnt the insulinomia and he lives for more years, I can live happy knowing we did all for him that was within our means. If he gets worse, I will have to let him go. I know that, as hard as it will be. Unfortunately, there is no way we can afford his surgery, so that is not an option for us. So, I wish that everyone will keep him in your prayers and pray that my baby gets better and is here for at least a few more years cause weve only had him for 2 years and I feel like we have more time with him. So thank you to everyone for your support, it def helped.

| Why don't you contact IMOM and see if you qualify for financial assistance for his surgery? IMOM.org Helping People Help Pets We have a thread pinned here with a list of other organizations that provide financial assistance with vet bills. http://www.yorkietalk.com/forums/sic...vet-bills.html |

| I'm so sorry to hear about this. Did your dog ever have seizures and a high white blood cell count? My 17yo just had 2 seizures on Sunday and the said he had low sugar causing a hypoglycemic seizure. But they found a small infection so he is on anti-biotics. Since then my dog has been well. Are they 100% certain about the cancer? You have me thinking now. |

| How do you feel about giving him the surgery? If they can remove it will it give him more time? The honest truth of it is gowing ahead with the surgery will at least make you feel you are doing what is medically possible for him. If he were to slip away during surgery then you would always know you tried to treat the condition he had, and he passed away while under the influence of anesthetic so it would be painless. He would not have to suffer from pain down the line until you couldn't take seeing him go through what the disease was doing to him. The hardest thing about making a decision is you always second guess yourself, and our fur baby's can't tell us what they think. They always look at us with those loving eyes saying,"I love you and trust everything you do for me." My prayers to you and now my eyes are filling up with tears.... |
