| I just found this link today from Auburn University which has very concise information about shunts for anyone who is interested. The information would be useful for anyone wanting to know more about liver shunts, treatment, complications, and prognosis. Go to pss BODY |

| I keep typing in the link but the word "body" keeps appearing and that is not what I typed! Go figure. Try google----type in "liver shunt surgery success rate yorkshire terrier." Scroll down to the link that begins with PSS. The link is from the Auburn University. The info is very clear and useful. |

| I don't know anything about Tufts but Brady's breeder lives in Tennesse and she said the hospital there is wonderful. She has all her puppies checked for liver shunt before they leave her. Good luck

| Hi Just an update on my little Emma-----she had her blood work done for surgery yesterday. Our vet called today and stated that all is well so she is set for surgery at Tufts next Tuesday, June 9th. I am trying to keep positive but the truth is that I am very worried about her. She will have to have a successful surgery and a successful recovery as well as the ameroid ring used to gradually close the shunt will have to work. Then the hope is that the blood will find its way back through a normal blood vessel back into the liver. I pray all goes well and that she won't have any complications which could be fatal. She is surely my little angel. Please keep her in your daily prayers and positive thoughts. Again, thanks to everyone for all your comments and support. DAB |
