So they think that no surgery will be needed then, correct? I hope all goes well at PT...I'm sure that the Little Miss will enjoy it! Keep me updated girl!P.S. - Tell Shelby that Tatum is really starting to hate being a jailed princess too. I think she's had enough of it by now lol.

| Sorry to hear about little Shelby. She sure has had more than her share of misfortune. Hopefully the therapy will help her to avoid surgery this time. She sure has a good mom to take such good care of her!!

| It went really well. Shelby had e-stim and laser therapy after an evaluation. I was told that the tear is definitely not a full tear and we will work towards our goal of stimulating healing around the area...... a tear cannot be "healed" but tissue surrounding it forms and actually her body will try to make a "fix" surrounding it with what is kinda like "scar tissue". Shelby LOVED getting her therapy and Seymour enjoyed the trip with us. He even showed Shelby that the treats from the therapist was "OK" to eat.. (She was a little scared at first, not knowing what to expect..... the little gal has been thru so much she don't know what may be next... )She is taking an organic compound that has some wonderful stuff in it. It is called Healthy Motion by Greendog Naturals. You can go to Green Dog Naturals to read about it. It has some wonderful ingredients and we are hoping that it works well for Shelby. Anyway......... it is late, and we are tired...... so I will let you know if I notice any changes with her on this supplement.

| I'm so glad the therapy went well, and that the tear may be 'fixable' on it's own!! I'm sure Seymour will be glad to get his playmate back.

Yes, Seymour really wants his playtime back with Shelby...... she usually chases him when he has a toy. Now he gets a toy in his mouth and stands in front of her and growls...... just begging for her to play. Of course, she is not allowed to so she sits next to me on the couch and growls back. One of these days, she get back to "thumping him" again!

| I would not be too upset. She is still early in her post-op period. My Gracie still favors one of her legs, now 2 years post-op bilateral LP surgery. The vet assures me that the repair is solid. It appears to be behavioral. They get used to favoring it pre-op when it hurts them. They don't understand what surgery is or what it is for, or that it is done to fix what hurts. So, post-op, they continue to try to protect it. With Gracie, she always went down stairs without using the bad leg. Now she still does that if she goes at the speed she wants. But if I have her on a leash and we go slow, one stair at a time, she does not favor it and actually stops favoring it for a time after that. For her it is a habit. I wish the best for your little Shelby.

The surgeon has assured me that her knees are fine..... and the physical therapist agreed. There is a way that they move the knee that they can tell if the ACL has a tear in it..... and also they can tell if it is a small or complete tear. Shelby's is definitely NOT complete tear and I think that we have a good chance of recovery without surgery. Thank-you for your well wishes....... and yep, ONE STEP AT A TIME!

| I've had five knee surgeries on three dogs and all five had ACL surgery done at the same time.
