I would not be too upset. She is still early in her post-op period. My Gracie still favors one of her legs, now 2 years post-op bilateral LP surgery. The vet assures me that the repair is solid. It appears to be behavioral. They get used to favoring it pre-op when it hurts them. They don't understand what surgery is or what it is for, or that it is done to fix what hurts. So, post-op, they continue to try to protect it. With Gracie, she always went down stairs without using the bad leg. Now she still does that if she goes at the speed she wants. But if I have her on a leash and we go slow, one stair at a time, she does not favor it and actually stops favoring it for a time after that. For her it is a habit.

I wish the best for your little Shelby.
