| Any luck with the new foods? We went through something similar and it turned out to be a nasty virus - lasted over 2 weeks. I hope Sophie gets better soon!

| No luck with the new food. she won't touch it. as i said she is soooo picky. and she is a little spoiled. At this point i can olny get her to eat boiled chicken or any thing esle we eat. i left the food down all day and she didn't eat any that day. i have been home sick all week myself. so i have been up all hours. i went out to the living room and she still had not ate. i guess has around 4 or 5 in the morning and she had gone into the back room were she go to go out (and i keep her pads down for going to potty when we are not home) and she had gotten sick again. this time no food as she had not ate the day before. so i cooked her some chicken and she ate that I only gave her a tablespoon or so. Than later in the morning i gave her a little more. and she as not gotten sick so far. My grandson was here today and he only 18 months old and she got a little of his hot dog that he had for lunch. He thinks everyone should have a bite of his lunch. and she was fine with that. I just don't know what esle to do with her. I wondering if she is going so long without eatting waiting for something better and than eatting so fast she is making herself sick. It's not like she throws up every day a fews days go bye and she is fine than it starts again. I have notice if she as not ate in a while and I give her something i know she really like she eats it really fast . So today I gave her boiled chicken and i put down her old food RC For Yorkie (which she as been on for 1 1/2 years) and i'm going to see if she does ok with that. She always like it. I would hear her eatting it at night. I leave her food out all the time for her. The vets don't seem to know what to do for her. she had 3 or 4 vets see her. i might be boiling chicken every week for her. i just can't let her not eat. Her sugar will get to low. Guess I'll see what happens and keep a eye on her. i'm really lucky as she can go to the office with me when i go to work. |

Try to cook several pices of lamb ( please, buy them with less fat or cut fat as much as possible, better lamb stew), no salt no spices. Buy a pack of regular instant oatmeal. Please, choppe a piece of cooked lamb (approx. half of matchbox size) and a teaspoon of cooked oatmeal. Serve it warm. One portion in the morning and one in the evening. Hope your dog will like it. Please, do not give any treats for 2-3 days. | |

| thanks for all help. i'm happy to say that sophie is back to her reg dry dog food and so far she has not been sick. she just won't eat any other. i'm not sure what was going on with her, but she seems fine now. back to her old self. now if i can just keep her daddy from spoiling her with treats we will be fine. he like to act like a tough guy, but he really loves his little girl. and she is sooo his girl. she is always on his heels. |

| Now I see from your other thread that there are problems again. Tylan is good but it is time for more testing in my opinion. Did you ever get a copy of the blood work? Did the vet do a Spec cPL and TLI? Has metronidazole been tried? Has the vet talked about an intestinal biopsy? Have you thought about a homecooked whitefish diet? Something like whitefish and sweet potato may settle easily, entice her to eat and it would be something more novel in case this is a food intolerance.

| Sophie as IBD. She is doing well. I have her on blue basics turkey and potato grain free dog food. she is rarely sick. I've been able to stop giving her meds. they are not good can cause liver problems. I must have try every food on the market lol. She is picky eater. The grains in some of the dog food makes some dogs with IBD sick and she is one of them. Hope this helps you. I wouldn't know what Sophie has if it was for this group. I owe them her life as she would surely not be with me today if someone on her had not told be about a good specialist in my area. They scoped Sophie (as they didn't what to treat her for IBD if if wasn't what she. Thou it was my choice to scope her.) The meds are so hard on these little dogs livers. |

| My onyx is a very picky eater as well, he would only eat the Royal Canin--which he has been almost since we brought him home after trying several. I just made my second trip to the vet today--he xray for blockage, he did a blood test for liver/kidney function and sent me home with prescription food. Onyx at the can food--and vomited 2 hours later. I am just so baffled. He has always done so well on his food and just suddenly started in vomiting. |

| Well I just made my second trip to my vet in the last 2 weeks, he x-ray -no blockage, checked blood for liver/kidney function..sent me home baffle with prescription food. 2 hours after he ate it-he threw up again. He also is a very picky eater and Royal Canin was the only food he would eat after trying many of the expensive brands when we brought him home. He is 2 1/2 and been on that and always did fine until 2 weeks ago. I may have to try turkey/potato..there are very picky eaters and don't want to resort to meds either. Thanks for the info..appreciate it greatly!! |

YT 2000 Club Member | dog I bet it is the food. Why doesn't the vet put her on the id science diet food for dogs who have stomach upset problems. Then wean her off that and onto a high quality dog food not that iams she has eaten. I hope she starts eating good food and is healthy soon. |

| Sophie had all those test too. and she was also on Royal Canin for 2 plus years with no problems. Find a grain free dog food your baby will eat and stick with it. i tried every brand of dog food on the market. some of the pet store will give you samples it they have them. Look for grain free thou. in doing research on IBD all the grains in the food we give ours dogs is not good for them. When I started really looking at what is in the food and the good ones too. i thought Royal Canin was a good food and it's not cheap it's not that great when you really look at it.good luck with your baby!! My Sophie is now 7 years old and is a happy girl. I think i almost lost her. It was a long road but we made it. she is only sick now if she gets something lol. We work hard to keep that from happening. |
