| Okay heres an update..I took her in to vet and we verified there are definitely pups and at least one strong heartbeat. So I am not gonna spay. I will try to let them go to term. However, I did go to the breeder section, and Ellie May has been very kind to explain about pyometra and that yes, you can have both pyometra and pregnancy at the same time. So this can get very bad at any time. Since she does have a yellowish greenish discharge, which is not a good sign, doc put her on clavomax (antibiotic) and wants to see her monday for a recheck. Dont know if he will want another ultrasound. But even if not, we will be doing one, at least at day 58 just so I can see if we need c-section or not. You can also tell if there is pyometra from the ultrasound. If there is, we will defintely do c-sec. Although Ellie May said she doubts Princess could carry to term with Pyo. So this is hanging in the balance. Now I really want her to go to term, because I dont believe in taking a life that can be saved, even a dog, however, if it is going to be at the risk of losing my girl, I will have to choose my girl. She is my heart. And then I will for sure get her spayed, because this is too risky. I think a lot of people would have had her spayed by now. But I just couldnt after seeing that little heartbeat. So I will pray. Thanks for everything, you guys are awesome!

| Update on Princess, we are gonna have puppies and doc says to try to let her deliver, he has had her on antibiotics and says she looks fine. Probably just a minor infection. I will still keep a watchful eye for anything to go awry and warned him of my two am phone call should I get anxious. He said that is fine, and told me to relax or I would never get through my own skin baby having kids, lol! I laughed, but I think he is right. We are at 60 dys today, and she is starting to tear things up and looking all over the house in little dark corners, but she does have a whelping box set up and I find her in there a lot too, so I think she will end up in there when it is time. The annoying thing is that her potty habits have gone down the toilet (pardon the pun) for some reason the last two days. My bedroom smells like a urinal, I dont know why she is refusing to go outside. Oh well, is life ever perfect? <sigh>

this is a hard situation because the vet can't tell you if it is pyo, metritis or whatever else. The whole thing seems kinda unique or strange.

| When he had the ultrasound on her last week (again, I have made him do two of them!) we saw two heartbeats, and they were strong, but she wiggles a lot and it was hard to see anything, he said if she had pyometra the puppies wouldnt be doing so well and growing. We did the xray on monday, and saw four heads and spines and they all looked about the same size, so he thinks she is gonna be okay to deliver. I am taking him at his word, and preparing him for my two am phone call, lol. I just hope I dont screw this whole thing up, I know they will be little muttlets, but I want them healthy, and my baby, too. Thanks, EllieMay, it is great to talk to someone who knows more than me!

| Sorry, puppy watch over! It all happened within an hour and a half, but now she will have nothing to do with babies, growls and nips at them, and me for trying to put her back in box with them. She had last one this morning at 10:15, four of them, all girls. I dont know how to post pics, but I will ask hubby to do it for me, lol. But it looks like I am gonna have to feed them myself. Rats. I did post in breeder section this morning about it. They said get some doggie nerve pills and that may calm her down, she is probably traumatized from the delivery.
