Okay heres an update..I took her in to vet and we verified there are definitely pups and at least one strong heartbeat. So I am not gonna spay. I will try to let them go to term. However, I did go to the breeder section, and Ellie May has been very kind to explain about pyometra and that yes, you can have both pyometra and pregnancy at the same time. So this can get very bad at any time. Since she does have a yellowish greenish discharge, which is not a good sign, doc put her on clavomax (antibiotic) and wants to see her monday for a recheck. Dont know if he will want another ultrasound. But even if not, we will be doing one, at least at day 58 just so I can see if we need c-section or not. You can also tell if there is pyometra from the ultrasound. If there is, we will defintely do c-sec. Although Ellie May said she doubts Princess could carry to term with Pyo. So this is hanging in the balance.
Now I really want her to go to term, because I dont believe in taking a life that can be saved, even a dog, however, if it is going to be at the risk of losing my girl, I will have to choose my girl. She is my heart. And then I will for sure get her spayed, because this is too risky. I think a lot of people would have had her spayed by now. But I just couldnt after seeing that little heartbeat.
